Hi guys,

So yeah I am here to share my medical journey at st lukes. To those who are living outside Luzon like me. These might help you. Choose the late flights or midnight flights. Not just because the tickets are way cheaper but this will help you to get through with your medical earlier than you think. I flew from Cebu 12 MN and got to Manila 1:20am something. To those who are scared to travel alone or ride a taxi alone since Manila is known for Spray Moduses or Taxi ipit.  Here are the tips and very effective. While you are in the taxi, pretend that you are talking to someone ( a relative or a friend) assuming he or she is from manila too or assume he or she is already waiting and that you're already on your way, hmm excuse your fiances at this moment 😉. Make you'll speak tagalog very well. Assuming youre a manila girl or manila's frequent visitor. Tell your friend that youre on your way and ask if he or she did receive the plate # that you sent thru text (optional) just make sure youre a good actress. (Drivers that are planning to do something bad might change his mind) Or try throw a joke like, treat me for a snacks when I get there etc. ------Let go to the main topinc here-----> So I got to the clinic in just 15 mins since there's no traffic during wee hours. Few people were already there like 14 people since my priority# was #15. Some of them started chitchatting. Giving advises and sharing experiences or stuff that they knw would happen during the medical. (To kill the boredome of waiting, try to make friends, ask them stuff, you might have the same denominators🙃) Luckily most of the people ahead of me speaks bisaya too. 😂 We didnt notice that it was already 4:20 am 😳 We enjoyed the waiting game. The clinic guard showed up as early as 4:20 and gave us our priority # exactly 4:30. He opened the clinic and opened all the lights. The clinic staffs slowly showed up and opened their cubicles. While the guards were checking our docs. Make sure you bring all the necessary docs with you or else they will not give you a priority#. Make sure you have photocopies of each docs.

Here are the documents that we brought:

  1. St. Luke's on-line registration form
  2. Passport
  3. Copy of Passport (Bio page)
  4. 4 pcs. 2x2 photos, white background, shirt with collar, identical.
  5. Letter from the Embassy with Case Number, if you have not received it yet. Track your case at CEAC using your MNL number, screen shot and print that.
  6. Interview confirmation letter (A MUST)

We were surprised that the clinic operated right away. Staffs started calling our numbers at exactly 5am. (Do not forget the 1st day of your last menstruation and the last time you peed for the day for they'll ask you that couple times)........

These procedures are based on the order that I did the medical examination. Always present your passport and OR on each step. (They sometimes assign you to different floors, if they see crowds already on that specific floor) They might advise you to do the visual and vital test after your  X-ray like what my new friend did.

1. XRAY 👉🏾 3F - we were then asked to proceed to 3F for the xray. Proceed to US Counter, submit passport and OR. They will give you another form, Wait for your name to be called, another staff assessed our forms and asked for the xray film. Then we were directed to Room 4 for Xray. Make sure you bring a hair tie or a clip for those who are Rapunzel like me 🤦🏾‍♀️ (Done in 20 mins)

2. BLOOD DRAW - 4F. Submit the form at the reception counter, they will give another form to fill-out, the nurse will ask you when was the last time you peed then wait for your name to be called. They'll only take one vial of blood . Then, advise you to go to the opposite door for Urinalysis. (Done these two procedures in 20 mins including the waiting game) I drank a lot of water for me to exactly pee after the blood drawing.

3. IMMUNIZATION INTERVIEW  2F-

Funny yet nerver wracking for me 😂 Waited for my name to be called and when my name was called the nurse when to me and asked me to proceed to the opposite door 👉🏾 TB EDUCATION ROOM I was like 😳😫😷 then I walked like a zoombie and clueless🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️First thing I asked to my attending doctor was, Doc 😩 did you see spottings on my X-ray? I almost cried in front of her and she calmed me right away said the immunization room is already full and that she decided to just use the not so used room. I was really relieved yay 😁 Then we started. I was asked a lot of questions about my health, lifestyle etc. You should know if you had chickenpox already and it's scar. You also have to show the vaccine scars (both arms), they will look for it. They will also ask if you smoke, drink, use drugs, were confined, when were you confined and what diseases. Actually, they have a lot of question that sometimes you can no longer understand them but its okay as long as you give them the exact answers or tell them you forgot and cant remember it already if you dont. Do not try to make up stories since you'll be asked again on you physical examination.

4. PHYSICAL EXAMINATION 5F. Proceed to US counter / Vital Signs /Visual etc. Wait again for your name to be called.

AT THIS MOMMENT MY KNEES ARE ALREADY SHAKING, not because they'll tell you to disrobe or undress but because I read a lot of blogs saying people with excessive tattoos & piercings, annulled, suicidal scars or signs of self harming scars, been to depressions will undergo a psych evaluations or psych test 🤑 another payment and a 1-2 weeks for scheduling, assessment  and waitings. In my case I have an excessive tattoos. (Both legs are halfed tattooed, My back's almost full of  drawings and a tribal tattoo. I have one on my thigh. I have one above my chest or lower shoulder. I have 8 huge tattoos total.

Basic questions were Name, birthday, any allergies, any animal bite,  drug abuse, alcohol abuse, any regular medication, any severe illness like tuberculosis, or primary complex for kids, other history of illness/ hospitalization, date of last menstruation, hypertension, etc. for those of child bearing age - last sexual contact, number of pregnancies, any miscarriage, etc. They are asking so many questions really like repeated questions so again, never ever make up stories coz you'll get caught..

This is it! The doctor then asked me to remove my clothing excluding my bra and underwear and asked to lay on the bed face up. She will check your heart rate, breast, abdomen, arms and wrist. Then the Doctor will ask you to turn on your side and she will tell you that she will check for hemorrhoids or stiches. This is just a quick physical check, the questions take longer. Then she started counting my tattoos and if you have some signs there that you're a gang member or marijuana tattoos or any drug involvent marks.  I was already expecting the she might refer me for a psych eval coz she's writing a lot of stuff on my slip. She told me to go to the US counter to check out.  Then I walked like a zoombie again 🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♀️ to the US Counter already thinking what to do next. At the back of my mind I already thought of rebooking my ticket to schedule that psych test right away. 😫 As long as its not for SPUTUM

(I am so sure I'm safe and not for SPUTUM since I did an advance Xray twice before this medical, the same month) SPUTUM TEST are for those who has signs of TB and will undergo some series of test with your masks on.

I returned my form to the US counter. Then the nurse told me to sit and wait. I went to the rest room and check if I still look human with my heart pounding. Hoping for a better result. I went back to my seat and the nurse called my name. She handed to me my receipt, told me to be back tomorrow at 8am for my result and immunization. I finished my day 1 at exactly 9:15am

Tip: USE THE STAIRS as much as possible for you to get to your designated floors faster, do not wait forever at the elevator, let the oldies and PWDs use em 😉

. 💆🏽 Hungry but happy I got it all done early. Hurried and was looking forward to pass out at the hotel I booked online in Casa Bocobo, hotel is close to chowking and Mcdonalds, tea house and lechon stall. I ate while video calling my fiance I missed him a lot lol I told him everything I did at St.Lukes. Then I passed out in my hotel room 😑

Day 2.

I walked to St.Lukes since it's just 3 mins away from Casa Bocobo 7:10 (excited and nervous) I gave my reciept to the guard and he pointed me to the other guard beside the door. He'll either your SAN PEDRO or you're most hated person at the clinic (kidding aside)

He has the access to the medical results. I was closing my eyes praying while he was stamping my receipt. I slowly opened my eyes and he said congrats go to 2nd floor

for immunization. I thanked him and my heart goes shalala smiling while walking like Miss Universe to the 2nd floor. I messaged my fiance right away to inform him we got it! We will be seeing each other soon. He was sooo happy and proud of me. ❤️ Awww I love my fiance so much! He is my every little thing. So okay lets on move on. I went to the US counter, gave my receipt and with a big smile on my face, biggger than this one 👉🏾😁.

While waiting for my name to be called. I was already imagining these 💒👰🏼👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

I cant help myself but feeling sooooo grateful and blessed. Called my name got three shots of vaccines. Then was advised to go to the releasing area and wait for my name to be called. I gave my passport to counter A and was advised to go to counter E. Doubled check all the details gave by the staff. Told not to open the envelope and bring it to my interview. Done at exactly 8:45am! Smooth and Blessed and Happy. DONT FORGET TO PRAY! Prayers move mountains.

Ps. Apologies for my grammar 😁

END.
