how do you do an embassy transfer?

Once the case is at embassy, contact the embassy you want it transferred to and request that they transfer the case from the one that currently has it.

  • 2 months later...

Hi,

I wonder if you would be able to help out. NVC assigned our case to an embassy other than what we had specified and other than what is on our NoA1 and NoA2. At the time we filed the petition my fiance lived in the UK and then he went to Pakistan a few month prior to getting our NoA 2. Thankfully the case is at NVC and the ID was created in 06/01/2018. My fiance and i both emailed at nvcinquiry@state.gov and nvcexpedite@state.gov and i even inquired via Ask NVC. And after all of that, i called NVC last night and the rep was really nice and said just inquire via email and we will process your request and update the embassy.

I read through the posts..

Any advice that any of you who experienced this might offer. And what other steps we can take so that NVC will correct their mistake.

Our case number was created Friday...so have to wait until Monday...

I am really frustrated because we waited so long to get noa2, then almost a month for it to reach NVC and now they screw us over.

Thanks for the response. I followed your advice after i read the previous comments and emailed both fiance and I. It's an error on their end so they should correct this. I am mostly pissed because when i called the first two times, they wouldn't recognize that it was their mistake..but then i called around 9pm est, the rep was nice and said just email or asknvc and we will update it.  Ahhhh

  • 1 year later...

@keixjil

Hi, I have the same situation,  my visa is ir1 , we put the right embassy,  but the nvc gave us a wrong embassy.  My husband was in Australia when we filed but we picked the right country, (his home country) for the interview but the nvc still made that mistake. Now my husband is in his home country.  It's been a month I made an public inquiry.  No response.  I called the nvc literally every single day since thn to talk to an supervisor.  Every single of them just suggest me do the same thing.  Made an public inquiry.  And they told me start processing the file . Pay fees / do ds 260 and submit all the documents.  Because changing information,  and checking all the requirements are done by 2 different departments.  I am really worried if I complete the file and they will sent it to the wrong embassy.  Than there is no way to get this mess fixed . My husband tried to call the Sydney embassy for hours and hours after he could not hold on to those people in Australia Sydney embassy. I dont know what do it . As you see by looking at our visa numbers we have been waiting for a long time.  Please help me .
