My wife said that she is going to say what's going with our case first Us embassy islamabad put our case 9 months then returned to nvc and now uscis taking 9 months in their review we are human and we are in love but we are living in cruel world we are crying everyday for eachother.right now she is crying this is so unfair to us.

As others have explained to you at least a dozen times in this thread----reaffirmation can take anywhere from 12 to 24 months.

This doesn't seem to be sinking in yet.

I understand that it is hard to wait----believe me, on an immigration site such as this, others are in your shoes and understand what it's like to wait ....whether one is waiting to be reunited with their spouse, waiting for all sorts of correspondence from USCIS, or waiting for approval/denial.

There is nothing you can do to  make the process go any faster.  There is nothing an infopass agent can do to make the process go any faster.

You have to wait.  Right now it's your only option.

Sigh. This thread is going in circles.

Actually, there is a lot you can do during your waiting time, to make your chances better, as many here have advised, but it seems you are not willing to take the advice.

Let me be honest - even on a good day, this process is not easy. Cases like yours are not USCIS's first priority because as of now - you'll hate me for saying this - they have decided that your case is not authentic. Or else they would have put it in Administrative Processing like hundreds of other cases. Refusal is not something they normally do until they believe the case is not based on facts or they have reasons to believe that visa fraud is being committed.

Don't get me wrong - you and your wife know the facts of your case, but USCIS doesn't and believe me they don't care how much you cry. They have thousands of applications to deal with and yours is relegated to the bottom. You and ONLY YOU can prove that your case is authentic and it doesn't seem like you have made any efforts towards doing that, after your refusal, even though you've gotten a lot of good advice here.

I know you've said it several times that your wife doesn't have time to visit you or that she is afraid to - but that is exactly what doesn't work in your favor. Given her history (divorced I believed you said), to the USCIS, it shows lack of commitment on her part. True, Pakistan is not on the top of any American's places-to-visit-before-you-die list, but she has to SHOW the USCIS that she cares for you enough to face the dangers of visiting Pakistan. Remember, this is not about how you two feel for each other - but how you must PROVE it to the USCIS.

Secondly, I think you mentioned that you were unemployed and I think I've said this before - You MUST find work if you want to PROVE to USCIS that you are not in this marriage for the benefits of a green card or eventual US Citizenship. I am NOT saying that you are but you have to convince the immigration authorities that it's not the case. If they believe that you'd be a burden on your wife in the US, it weakens your case.

Lastly, I don't know if you have shared before how and where you got married - pardon me if you have - but if you haven't, can you share where the ceremony took place? Who attended from yours and her sides of the family? Does she have children from the previous marriage? Do they know you? What do they think of you? All of these things matter greatly to any case but they matter even more in yours.

I wish you all the best.

Which is not enough as we advised before. She must visit

and will have plenty of time to do so during the 1-2 year long review.

Happy to read she is doing that.

The letter is literally telling you exactly what they are asking for:  a certified copy of the court order/marriage certificate showing her new legal last name.

It's not enough for her to just change her last name at whim without going through it legally----they want actual proof of the name change.

Request a certified copy of the marriage certificate from the city/county/country where you were married in.

Do NOT send your original marriage certificate---they won't send it back.

No they don't want photos----she's not proving your marriage to them, she is only needing to prove the legal name change.

It's possible they lost the copy she already sent---human error happens.  All you can do is send the certified copy of the marriage certificate again.

This is for a US passport renewal for your wife, I presume?

She has no choice but to send the certified copy of the marriage certificate if she wishes the passport to be processed with the new last name.

As I said earlier, she needs to get a certified copy of the marriage certificate from the county/city/country where the marriage took place....and then she just sends that in.

Best she gets two----one to send in for the passport, and one to keep for her records.
