Personally, I don't think there is a murderous cabal here anymore than I think there was some sort of political cabal.  The one thing that is different with the Rich case is that there is an actual underlining crime behind that hypothesis, there is still no actual underlying crime for the whole collusion hypothesis.

and all that is dependent on the dc police department taking orders from the dnc, which is ridiculous. i seriously don't understand the comparison with the ongoing investigations into trump's campaign and russia. i understand why trump supporters want to compare the two, but the fed government isn't actively investigating seth rich's death, the dc police are, why?

You are hung up on collusion, and crime. Start with the breachs and attack by Russia first.  Some would keep us ignorant of the intentions of folks in Russia. Ifvwe don't deal with the reality of the situation, We will have a mess on our hands.  It is tiresome to hear folks run down our intelligence folks who are here to protect and serve us, but they run to lap up every bit from paranoid wackjob broadcasters.

Exactly, collusion is not a crime.  Back in 2008, and again in 2016, we were told all of Hillary's ties to foreign actors are benign and not worthy of any scrutiny, now any talking at all to a foreign actor by a transition team is practically a crime.  Didn't the DNC use a British citizen to dig up dirt on Donald Trump?  I know it was an RNC candidate first, but the DNC started paying this person's billings.  So who cares if the Trump campaign used the Russians, the Hillary campaign used the Brits.  Which one is worse as they are both foreign actors?
