Hi,

check if the doctor who is doing your medical for the visa has a web page. Mine did and they had a chart of the vaccinations that are required.

It said people between the age 19-59 should have had following vaccines:

*Dt/DTP/TaP (tetanus)

*Measles

*Mumps

*Rubella

*Varicella (chickenpox)

I'm getting my medical done next week but i saw my house doctor last week and let him review my vaccination record and he ganve me a tetanus shot.

It's a little bit confusing as to if the vaccinations are really required for the K1. i read information that said the vaccines are only a must for immigrant visa but the K1 is technically a non immigrant. Anyhow, i thought better safe than sorry and i wanted to be up to date with the vaccinations BEFORE the medical as i don't know if they would charge extra at the medical (with my house doctor it was covered by my health insurance)

Not sure if it is the same in the Ukraine. Check the embassy page and/or the doctors page.

If i'm not mistaken you are not getting any vaccination during your medical examination.

Your regular physician should be able to give you Form 086-y or Vaccination (Immunization) record - the record of ALL vaccinations you have gotten since your birth. THIS record you bring in for your medical exam and THIS record will be transferred to the Form DS-3025. Without the record of your Immunization the form DS-3025 wont be issued.

What to do if the list of Vaccination was lost? It is typical in Ukraine to lose papers in clinics. I asked it and they couldn't find it there.

Any childhood record?... Sometimes a medical card from your childhood is given to you to keep it at home.. ???? Some vaccinations are done at school, college?...

try to talk to your regular doctor...Should be a way to "recover" somehow your immunization history.. Otherwise you will need to get ALL required vaccinations after your arrival in the US, for your green card application. Really wouldn't want you to get shots AGAIN:(

In case, if your vaccination records from your physician is still not available,  an anti-body titer test can be done to determine immunization against certain viruses.

  • Hepatitis A Titers
  • Hepatitis B Titers
  • MMR Titers
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox) Titers
  • Rabies Titers

Thank you so much! You confirmed what I was guessing to do!!!

You are very welcome!!! :)

P.S. I believe tetanus and diphtheria anti-body titer tests "exist" as well.... just in case,

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi.

Unfortunately pregnant women are required to have a chest X-ray. They can post pone the test and get it done after delivery, but anyway it must be done BEFORE leaving the country.

I wish it was changed to more "gentle" test.. like QuantiFerron TB Test, for example. But  - the rules are rules.

As for vaccination. She was not supposed to get  vaccinations during her medical exam. At least I've never heard of any K1/K2 who got immunization shots during exam. Instead - she should've brought in her vaccination record from her regular healthcare provider, the record of ALL immunization shots she has gotten since her birth. THIS record would've been transferred to the form DS-3025 during medical exam. No record from your health care provider - no form DS-3025.

"In order to assist the panel physician and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician’s review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirements. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physician. Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history, and current medical condition"

Anyway, vaccinations are required, but for immigrants only, not for K applicants. So, if her chest X-ray is fine and she passed the medical exam, she should not have problem with issuance of K1 visa.

The problem can be later, at AOS stage - she will need the form DS-3025 for her green card application, after arrival to the US and getting married. And if the form is not available, then I believe you have to see civil surgeon to determine what vaccinations are needed or waived due to current condition (pregnant/breast feeding , etc..). And usually civil surgeon wants you to get the whole medical done... Again. :(
