Medical examination K1 visa

I'm gathering information together for all the visa process starting from I-129F right up until the K1 interview i will have to do. I was looking online and am i correct on believing that it's £290 for a medical examination? Does this still stand the same? (not sure if what i read was old or recent).

 

And off topic - i'd like to know how long your process wait was from sending your I-129F forms up until you getting your K1 interview? I'm just very interested on knowing how long your guys wait was/is.

Yes, the medical is £290 at the moment but will be increasing to £300 on June 1st: http://www.visamedicals.info/us-price.asp

 

Check the processing times at the top of the page to get an idea of how long things are currently taking.

As stated above, that price is correct until the increase.  We sent our original I-129f on December 21st and it was received on December 23.  My fiancé's medical was today and his interview is June 1.  So for us it was right over 5 months from filing to interview.    Good luck to you!

Wow, this is very expensive. My fiance is located in the UK and will also have to complete a medical. I assumed it was included in his national healthcare. Good to know it's not

Yes, the whole process is very expensive and a bit frustrating. There are numerous fees that need to be paid between filing and approval.  You have the I-129f filing fee, the visa application fee, the medical, the police certificate, passport photos, shipping documents (if needed), travel... A lot of little things that add up. lol.  And then of course you have the cost of AOS after everything is approved and your fiancé arrives.  If you have not, I would start making a to-do list and a to-pay list to keep on track.  Everything is well worth it in the end tho!
