You can start the process from Canada, however, the US consulate in Montreal, where all immigrant visa interviews take place, is very strict on domicile.  Eventually, you will need to move back to the USA.  Also if your job will not continue after you move, you will either need US income, 3x the asset value, or a joint sponsor for the I-864.  However all of that is about 3-6 months away, so you can start the process now and work on getting domiciled in the USA during that time.  Because you are filing from Canada initially, it's possible that your USCIS portion of the process can be faster but I would bet on it being about 6 months.

We have a huge thread in the Canada regional forum about US domicile and the issues people have at the consulate if they aren't.

Do you recommend the k-3/ I-29F filing? My husband(us citizen) will be returning to the US end of June.  My daughter (us citizen) and I will be waiting here in Canada until I'm approved and i dont want to wait so long.

Sorry if there is another place I should be asking this question. I'm getting so confused:(

K3 is obsolete.  You'd need an IR visa.  Your daughter can move back whenever she likes.

unfortunately don't want doesn't work with immigration.  It takes 12-14 months.

As mentioned, the K3 is obsolete and rarely approved. If you apply it will likely be converted to a IR1/CR1 anyway.

Unfortunately the timeline is standard. It takes about at year. Nobody wants to wait but it is what it is.

Even if the K3 went through it would not make that much difference time wise.
