You are spot on, and you can sort of see the narrative evolving to now any conversation at all with a foreign official especially Russian is grounds for impeachment.  It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

You have inserted untrue statements in a smattering of partially true statements. The investigation is not being run by democrats and no one thinks the election will or should be turned back. So your premise of who is driving the investigation and why it is happening is false. No cause for investigation? You have had one retired general resign because he broke the law and lied about it and  our state secrets and national security were potentially compromised. Does it end there? No Manafort, maybe Stone and others close to the president have received compensation from Russian operatives. And now, for reasons unknown, the president is acting like he wants to obstruct the investigation and probably has. 

There is a lot to sort out. The president needs to ensure that Congress and the special counsel have everything they need to get through this speedily. People lying and hiding just embarrasses this country more.

Not merely evolving to that conversation now. During Tillerson's confirmation hearings, Dems made a big deal of Tillerson, being an executive for a global oil corporation, doing contracts with Russia, one of the worlds biggest oil producing countries (like he would continue being an executive of this corporation if he said to hell with Russia). They made a big deal of Jeff Sessions doing his job as a Senator doing international diplomacy with Russian officials, while being completely silent about Obama doing the same, while being silent about Democrats doing the same, and being utter hypocrites in not having any dumb outrage over Claire McCaskill lying about having contacts not only with Russian officials in her capacity as Senator, but lying about a specific Russian official she contacted. There are more examples of this, but as you can see the left have conveniently put all their ****-ups behind them and targeted Flynn. It's no surprise that people in an administration would get in trouble, this is why Obama fired some people in his own cabinet, but it's funny watching this outrage as if Trump stuck behind Flynn and kept him in his cabinet upon these revelations.

 

Anything to get some relief for that exaggerated outrage at so-called President Donald Cheeto McDrumpf. 

 

This sideshow prevents us from having a real dialogue about reasonable criticism of Trump. This is the issue Greenwald and Kucinich have been expressing of late as well.. two dyed-in-the-wool liberals. Liberals think this media campaign they've latched onto greatly affects Trump's chances, but if there's one thing 2016 brought some hope for is people are becoming less affected by the MSM. So the left establishment (MSM, financiers of organizations/PACs, and Dem Party) is running the same losing campaign, just with massively upped ante, hoping the same dull strategy they used on Bush, and the same strategy used on Trump during election season, will work.

The issue at hand is whether there was/is collusion between the Trump campaign/administration and foreign governments. The whining you hear are the supporters of the so-called president screaming and hollering trying to convince themselves there is nothing there. I can't believe you do not see the inconsistencies between what Trump said about the same topic, Comey, with a span of hours let alone how he undermines the Press Secretary statements and common sense. There is no spin zone or bias at play. These are the words of the Whitehouse and the President(they should be the same but for some reason they are not. 

 

Why does it matter what his character flaws and values are? Well for many reasons we have debated for months but specific to the firing of Comey there is the obstruction of justice charge which goes to the heart of why he was fired.

There isn't a single person in this thread denying that there is anything to investigate in regards to the Trump campaign and Russia that has ever given even the slightest grudging agreement that anything Dear Leader has said or done was ever worthy of critism. How can there be reasonable discussion critiquing The Donald if his followers can admit nothing short of perfection?
