i-130 (Family Name in ALL CAPS)

ok guys:

so I think i filled out wrong where it asks for family name, I put my first and last name under "Family name in all caps" and USCIS actually meant only Last name and than put my first name again under "(First)". I did not know that  Family Name in ALL CAPS actually MEANT my Last name only.

 

now I got letter saying from uscis that my case has been accepted but it comes as Firstname Firstname, Lastname.  my passport only has Firstname, Lastname. Would this cause issues?

Call uscis and say that you wish to place a service request to correct a typographical error and explain the correction.

thank you for the response. I will call them up on monday morning. i just hope this does not delay my case. Its weird i sent them my US passport copy along with other supporting document and they did not look those docs to check my name.

 

do you by any chance know what they will do to correct this mistake? i hope they dont' make me do the i-130 all over again.

They will open a service request and you should hear something (or see if you check the online case statuses, service requests show up there) within two weeks. It might possibly take longer, but 1-2 is most common. An officer will be assigned and they will change it. It won't delay your petition as long as you get it done now in the beginning. The processing of the i-130 won't start for a while anyhow. I had to make a typographical correction for one of my AOS forms and it didn't take long at all. Just make sure and tell them exactly how it should be written.

Just called uscis and they said to wait for 30 days...they give me reference number and said they will correct it. However they gave me NVC address saying that I need to write them letting them know about this error.

 

The lady told me i can't call them since they are off the public...Should/Can i still call them up and see what they say? I have gotten letter from them to fill out ds-260 and all that fees....Should I hold on to that?

I'm not a guy, but that's not important

I would do as the lady said. Send them a letter explaining and fill out the DS-260 with the correct information/name.
