The airline you are flying with should be able to answer ALL of your questions; in most cases connecting passengers are forbidden to leave the airport (and do not go out of the flight side area at all) and are therefore not required to go thru immigration although you may be required to go thru security again for safety reasons.

I do not know if you will physically change airplanes, and be required to disembark, and re-board, but the airline WILL know. Call them and ask - they have customer service helpdesks for a reason :)

I hear you on that. I had never flown overseas before when I went to the US over 12months ago now for 3 months. I was a nervous wreck about how things where done with stopovers etc. The flight attendants were great and so was everyone I asked questions of...I think that helped me get through without any dramas either. They felt sorry for me.....I was like a lost child hahahaha

You will be fine. Deep breaths and before you know it you will be in your Honey's arms

When you land in Detriot everyone will have to go through immigration, pick up luggage, and go through customs. If your bags are checked through to your final destination (Greensboro), then there should be an area where you can drop the bags off again, for them to put on your final flight.

I believe that is flight 72 to Ngoya? You will change planes at Ngoya even if the flight number remains the same. Don't worry...there will be many people from the Philippines on that flight doing the same plane change. Just make sure you keep your boarding pass that you used in Manila as it will be used again in Ngoya to get back on the next plane. When you get to Detroit, you will be guided through to immigration. You can't get lost as there is no other path but through immigration. You will pick up your luggage immediately behind immigration and pass through customs and then recheck your luggage. You can find which gate your plane to Greensboro leaves from on the departure monitors and then just follow the signs to your concourse.

i alaways stress it about my bags and where they are checked to also

when u first hand your luggage in you will be given a ticket with a barcode on it, it should say on there where you will pick up your baggage, more than likely your final destination

She will have to claim her luggage twice. Once at the POE before going through customs and then recheck it at the recheck counter right after customs...then claim it again at her final destination.

I had the same flight coming back from seeing my fiancee. In Nagoya, you get off the plane, go through customs (baggage check) and get right back on the plane. I believe they re-fuel the plane while everyone is going through customs. you have nothing to worry about there. Just follow the crowd as most others will be doing the same thing. In

Detroit, yes, get your baggage then report to immigration and customs. You will be in the shorter line there.
