Hello guys. My fiance got denies a visa today  and our whole file is being sent Bach to the department  of homeland  security with recommendations  to cancel. Has this ever happened to anyone? What are our options? They say they will contact me upon receipt of our file from the foreign  embassy to tell me the reason  ( which they didn't  tell my fiance)

Sorry. It was denied under section 221g and he was given a yellow slip.

It happens somewhat frequently, especially in countries like Cameroon that are considered to be tougher countries to get a visa through due to history of fraud and scamming. How does your fiance feel the interview went? Did the officer interviewing him show any signs of doubt about something in your case? It often comes down to it being a difficult embassy. How much time have you spent together in person? Do you have a large difference in age? Cultural differences? These are some common red flags that need to be addressed in your case and interview.

Thanks RJANDHAMID for your reply. We started talking in October  2015. I visited in may of 2016 for one month. We got engaged then. We had our 2 families do our traditional  bride price on December  3rd  3016. There is some information  about a previous  marriage  that he didn't  give me. He was asked at a previous interview and he provided it. So this info was not on the i-129f application.  I don't know if that is the problem. I will wait for homeland  security  to tell me the full story. We are from the same country and he is 2 yrs older than I am.

I've actually read somewhere on the forums that the traditional bride price can be considered being too married for the K-1. I'm sure someone will come in and confirm.

But, in your case it could be the lying about previous marriages, or both those issues that caused a denial.

The bride price ceremony is sometimes a denial situation because it's "too married" for a fiance visa.

 

Most likely, though, the significantly bigger problem is the previous marriage that you didn't know about and which wasn't disclosed on the I-129f. There is a fairly well known path of "divorce spouse in your country, get married to American (or European or whatever the target country is), get green card/citizenship, divorce American, petition for 'real spouse'". They're on the lookout for that path. It's hard enough for divorced people from high fraud countries to prove that the relationship is genuine even when the American knows all about it, the divorce was a long time ago etc. Even they get denied. I think the fact that he'd disclosed this from you is going to make it all the more difficult to overcome the suspicion of fraud, I'm afraid. Doubly so if the divorce is recent or happened *after* the two of you started talking. 

 

Work this out with him. Try if you can see why he hid this from you (and make no mistake, this is a MAJOR thing to hide, immigration process or not), but honestly, I'd just cut and run.
