I am currently a sponsor for my husband, since we are both living overseas and I don't work, we also have a joint sponsor to  be the financial support. My question, I don't need to prove income for the past two years as I have not worked, the last time I worked was 2014. I only recently filed and paid what I owed. It seems that my tax transcript isn't being sent (I've requested it twice). Is mailing copies of my W2s from 2014 and the 1040 I filled out enough as proof that I filed for 2014? I can also provide a receipt that I paid what I owed. Thanks for any help.

I know when I did my AOS with the I864, I sent copies of my W2's/1099s along with copies of my 1040s and had no issues.  Most will say that tax transcripts are better, but if you don't want to wait, you should be fine with what you have.

Good Luck!

We also sent only 1040 and w2 - some ppl have a lot of schedules etc to go with their return, in those instances maybe you wouldn't have copies of your complete return or you might miss one etc - a transcript includes all the info you need without thinking about it. If you have your complete return (all that was filed with it), that's all that's required. Do you have letters of non-filing from IRS for the years you didn't need to? Cause you'll need to prove that you didn't. Also ofc you'll need to send evidence of your current income as well. Good luck to you :)
