Service Request for AOS - exceeding expected processing time

Hey all,

So I sent off my AOS paperwork on 11/8/2016. Online it is saying my fingerprint fee was accepted 11/25/16.

Did Biometrics on 12/19/16.

Since then, have received EAD and AP - great, BUT still awaiting any further movement on AOS. It has been 185 days and as far as I can tell my case is not at my local field office (San Antonio) because it still says "Name change succesful" etc from a mess up they made, so it is not saying that we are ready to be scheduled for interview.

I have submitted a service request as I feel my case is exceeding normal processing times. I came here on a K1 - anyone had any luck with a service request for the above? Anyone got an idea for what could be going on with my case? Am assuming I could still be approved without interview and am hopeful my service request may hurry things along.

Sorry if this is a little disjointed and confusing to read.

If there is anything to test your patience, it's the green card process. K-1 based AOS reviews have been taking up to a year lately at a lot of field offices. My wife and I filed our I-485 beginning of last June (2016) and our status was stuck on "fingerprint fee received" until April 2017 (11 months) when it finally changed to "Interview ready to be scheduled". We just had our AOS interview early this week. The reason it's taking so long could simply be that there is a backlog of applications. All you can really do is wait unfortunately. It may seem like they forgot about your application, but they have not. You will hear something eventually, don't worry.

As stated before it can take up to a 1 year for AOS from a K1 visa to be approved. My wife's took 10 months when she did AOS 3 years ago.
