Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Damn NBC!!! I bust my butt cleaning the house so i could sit down and watch the last bit of the Ottawa/Buffalo game. Games tied 2-2 going into OT,THEN the ^#$%#^#& switch to the horse race!! Which isnt actually going to be run for awhile!!! I would be doubly ticked if I lived back in Canada, becuase NBC wanted the game in the afternoon, -against CBC's wishes-- the game was played in the afternoon, where most Cdns prefer to watch it in the evening (not 10 am in Victoria, lol) Can't belive they depart OT, for pre-horse racing commentary!!

Well, as a horse racing fan as well as a hockey fan, I am a bit torn here. Comparatively speaking, there is almost no horse racing on TV as opposed to hockey, so I am always eager to watch the ponies run when I get the chance. But, yeah to interrupt an OT game just to go to the pre-race blah, blah, blah seems silly to me too. Out of curiosity, did the game end before the race began?

NBC can't win though. A few weeks ago they preempted a special on Barbaro because the Buffalo/Rangers game went into OT and they stayed with the game. And of course all of the horse racing people bitched and moaned about who cares about hockey, they wanted to watch Barbaro. Didn't matter to me since NBC ended up airing the Barbaro special after the Kentucky Derby, which is when they should have aired it anyway.

By the way, the Preakness was pretty awesome this year!

And yeah, Go Sens, Go!

I remember a bunch of people flooding CBC with letters, calls, etc, upset with them pre-empting this one specific show CONTINUALLY. The complaints worked because they got an apology and a change of process. Which probably explains why the hockey OT lost out to the horse races on NBC. The squeaky wheel and all.

Hubby was making fun of me last night..

I of course was cheering for Ottawa.. and he was saying.. Look what country's kicking who's country's butts now?

I of course decided to educate him and say that it really wasn't like that that CDNS played for the Ducks too etc.

That only made it worse..

He was like.. oh so now it's a conspiracy.. that the US players on Ottawa sabotaged the team..

HA HA!! He's such a punk..

We had a great laugh about it..

*sigh..... it is too bad that Ottawa didn't pull out the stops last night :(

i would have been happy with either team winning. Redden deserves a cup, but so does Pronger (sort of). i was happy to get the email saying that Corey Perry's dad didn't have a heart attack when they won! LOL

no matter, i'll not be making any Stanley parties this summer anyhoo. :(
