This is why the US should amend the 14th amendment. It gives too much ammo for blaming the US for breaking up family. If Canada can do it, why can't we.

What?  Last I checked Canada still has birthright citizenship

And if the children are citizens then what?

Yeah, if a liberal ever becomes president again, I'm sure they will be handing out green cards and citizenships like candy.

That doesn't answer the question one bit. Fwiw I'm not a liberal myself.

I agree. The USA is in a political mess. Those who love the USA voted for Trump.

And those who love the USA also did not vote for Trump, because this is a Constitutional Democratic Republic and not a Dictatorship (yet) and that is the way our system works. One person who votes for one side over another does not love America more or is a better more superior American, Comrade.

Oh, I'm sorry.  I thought it was clear that I'm not against deporting US citizens.  If a person is a citizen, they can stay.  If it happen to be an anchor baby, they can stay and live with family/friends, or can go back with the parents.  They are not forced to leave or to stay, the parents can decide.

Don't be such a softie.  These people are using this "break up the family" nonsense hoping softies will cave in and let them all stay.  And the liberals are ready to do that.  This is a situation of their own doing.  They had a baby knowing full well that they are illegal and 99% of the time for the sole purpose that it will prevent deportation.  Nothing stops them from being with their baby, just not in the US.

I've seen a situation in Florida where parents were taken, they had nobody to look after the child and it went to foster care.  They were deported and their child adopted out because they were unable to attend court to get their child back.  Things like that do happen
