That's like saying that all poor people have no morality. The majority of poor people are honest and are not even going to think doing such a thing. There is no danger of a flood tide of similar suits. Saying there is is just scaremongery of the worst sort.

Then what what? You still maintain that somehow this case is going to lead to what? 100 copycats? 1000? How many? The reality is, a girl with no moral character who can't afford college has any number of better options than this one. It's therefore pretty safe to say, it's not going to happen again in the near future and not often ever.

There is no precedent for anything here. There is no 'trend' towards poor people making false claims and lying about rape to get money. This was a one off, isolated incident. Sure, go after the prosecutor for taking a case to court that should never have gone there but leave over with the 'it's a slippery slope' rubbish.

Whilst I admire your faith in humans....and it is a pure shame that this girl felt like this was her only option for a successful life...but how on earth do you live with the guilt of the possibility that you single handedly ruined another persons life with a lie. AND then got a free education.

But facts are facts and people do it every day to get ehat they want. Morality has gone by the way side for a percentage of humans.

I would have more respect for him if he just came out and said what he really feels; which is obviously, "###### the white folk and power to my colored people".

I am getting really tired of politically motivated district attorneys, pushing marginal, if even legitimate cases through the courts. A daily occurrence these days. How can it be stopped?

Stop electing prosecuting attorneys and have them be appointed by the state or the court...
