Thanks everyone for posting such nice things!

I feel better today and I'm ready for the word on an approval. We've done everything we can do and have been totally honest on all questions and forms. Everything else is out of our hands now. I hope my situation is like Artegal.

In the words of Apollo Creed:

"I can't be beat....I won't be beat. I've retired more men than social security."

I hope so too Mercury! I am leaving for Lima on this Wednesday. I will pack a can of whipass for this guy at the Embassy in my carryon if I can get it past TSA flunkies--considering Federal Agents recently passed through 21 times with real bombs pretty much I think I get a can or two of Whipass--or cheezewhiz and whipcream and sack of tomatoes! Hey my wife is preggers and traveling with me! But yeah it will come--don't let any Government Worker get you down.

Good luck on your trip! It is really freakin hot there right now.....this ol boy from WI wasn't ready for that kind of heat yet.

As far as the whipass goes....shake well and distribute evenly.

Mi amor dropped off the forms at DHL today and they said her package should be ready on Thursday with the visa. Lu got really excited but I had to temper that a little bit by saying this is DHL that said that and not the embassy.....I thought it was a little irresponsible of them to say that there. I think most of the people that get that yellow form have to send back the certificado penal and not the migratory movement form I was requested to send.

I am confused? Did she drop it off to be mailed to the embassy at DHL or the DHL office in the embassy?

12/31/07: Sent I-751 packet to Texas, the LONG wait begins once again!

01/03/08: Packed received.

Lu said it was in a really nice part of town that she wishes I would have gotten to see, so I guess it must not have been in the embassy.

I didn't see an office when I was in there either.

The DHL office in San Isidro--that's the nice part of town. And ditto I don't remember a DHL office at the embassy.

greetings,

I am so sorry for the problems you have been having- hopefully it is just another peruvian hoop- when I married there, I had never seen so many seals and stamped documents- quite officious as a friend would say- felt quite at one wih several governmental offices by the time we finally assembled our package for the municipalidad

I am wondering if you could let me know what a certificate of migratory movements is and where one obtains it in Lima. We will be having our CR1-IR1 interview, with luck, in the next couple months and might as well be prepared!

suerte

There is an immigration builing in Lima.....can't quite remember where it is located but the street name might be nacional or libertad.

This document really is not required, but was something that was requested of Lucia and I after the interview. This report was relatively easy to get and normally takes 2 weeks to attain.

I wouldn't worry about getting this document. We had some special circumstances that required additional evidence.

Basically, the migratory movement document is a record of every time you have left and entered Peru. It has the dates, but only goes back about 5 years unless you request it be further.

Buena suerte!

I know exactly the feeling of how different it is to know you have to wait this or that much time to see each other again, and when you have no idea when that will be, and how much more it hurts.

I say you should be positive about the interview, as they didn't deny you, and as they said to send the new document with the passport, which means he'll most likely grant her the visa. Just hang in there and maybe May is still the day when she goes home. Good luck!
