7/11/2018 RFE for Birth Certificate

7/23/2018 Sent BC in response to RFE

7/31/2018 Confirmation of receipt of the BC

8/3/2018 received courtesy letter for medical 

8/6/2018 Case is ready to be scheduled for interview

9/19/2018 EAD/AP approved

9/20/2018 EAD/AP card in production 

9/24/2018 EAD/AP card is ready to be mailed

9/25/2018 EAD/AP card is mailed, usps tracking included in online update

9/27/2018 EAD/AP card picked up at post office

whoever spoke to you misinformed you. he can no longer file for your son since you divorced. there is no longer a relationship stepfather, stepchild

 

you have to file for him. in second place, you can file for citizenship after 5 years of being a GC holder. you didn't break any rule

You will need to start a petition for him yourself. As an LPR it will take 2 years to bring your child here. Any reason why you didn't bring him when you first arrived? 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

OK thanks back then I don't know what kind of life waiting for me here in United States I just make sure whatever happened I know my son is in a safe place with my sister i want to bring him here with me once I am really sure that I can provide for him and I'm scared that me and my ex hubby won't get along well first 2 years we are OK then problem came to our marriage his alcoholic addiction he become violent and abusive good thing my son isn't here yet when it happened well now I guess I just need to start  from the beginning of the process.

How long have you been here in the states?  As others said, if you have been here at least 5 years, you are eligible to file for citizenship.  If not, then you just have to wait until you hit the 5 year mark to file.  Wishing you and your son the very best and will be reunited very soon!

She can file for her son as an LPR, no need to wait until she's a citizen.

11/27/2015- Arrived at Embassy
06/2016- Third visit to Nigeria!
06/15/2016- Interview, given option to file I-601 waiver.
08/16/2016- Waiver submitted (no lawyer).
11/21/2016- Waiver approved with expedite.
01/2017- Embassy requested interview. 
04/2017- Fourth visit to Nigeria.  K1 officially denied. 
04/25/2017- NOA1 for 2nd K1.
07/27/2017- Case transferred to TSC.
11/17/2017- Case transferred back to CSC.
01/16/2018- NOA2!! (266 day wait)
03/08/2018- Interview (AP)
05/03/2018- VISA APPROVAL!!!
05/14/2018- Visa issued
05/18/2018- Visa picked up
05/25/2018- HE'S HOME!!! 💙💙💙
