Our internet is being all wonky again.  We aren't close to our cap, but I did see a suspicious looking cable employee walking down our alley earlier and our underground cable junction box in the yard is unlocked and partially open.

*sigh*  It makes so much sense right now why the internet is sometimes iffy when it rains.  The wires are literally just in the ground and with a regular splitter right above the surface.

There are previous diodes in those lock boxes that enable cable boxes you know. They leave them there.

Oh there is none of that.  It looks just like when you split the cable in your house to go to two different rooms.

Maybe I'll take a pic later.

Follow me here, there are three coax lines in the dirt covered by a box.  An orange one comes up and is split into one for my house and one for my neighbors...both going through the soil to our houses.  Like this:

That's called a coax splitter. You're saying this thing in on the ground? Or buried in the ground?

Rain can hit this thing, no problem, but it can't rest on the ground or be buried.

These things do go bad.

A dollar store has them.

But a higher quality one is 6-7 dollars.

I just saw a thing about the school, if she makes it past 3rd grade. She will get invited to attend the school full time. It goes from 4th grade to 12th grade.  And I looked up the rankings. Top 2% and top 5% in Math and ELA respectively. Not too shabby. But the school day is like 7 to 5.

Dr said tonsils need to leave.  They had an abscess again.  3rd one.  I'm on all sorts of drugs.  Hubs won't let me drive to get food.
