We spent hours today trying to get us, Mrs. T-B., & Mini-B. to Ecu this summer for less than $Many,000,000 apiece, aarrgh man.

We resourcefully discovered that TAME, Ecu's national airline, goes nonstop FLL-GYE, hopeful man.

Fares quite reasonable, $i man.

Flight times excellent, too, promising man.

However, couldn't arrange enough time for us/Mrs. T-B. in Ecu that wasn't too long for us to be away from Mama T-B., senior she man.

Accordingly, we will not go to Ecu, disappointed Family-Mrs.-T-B. they man.

We will send Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. in July for 2 or Many weeks instead, sigh man.

This would have been our last chance to visit Ecu in foreseeable future, vacation policy at office changing soon man.

Sigh, man.

We live at the foot of Mt Pisgah in NC which is apparently a good place to be to get a good view, we'll be heading up the mountain:)

Can she cope with the pressure that all the extra curricular activity and missed classroom time is going to put on her to maintain her grades?

Our rule is that if grades drop or the child is getting stressed/unhappy then something has to be dropped.

Tough decision for you though

Long conversation with stepdaughter last night about safety online and personal accountability - I'm not convinced she understands but I've told her that she should be happy for her Dad to see anything she posts, if she wouldn't want him to see it then don't post it...

 

Our long evening of scanning everything she has ever done online unearthed a screenshot of a YouTube video with her picture and over 160,000 views - we cannot find any video in her files, spent hours searching YouTube without success and she is denying ever making a video or putting anything on YouTube, we desperately need to find it to see what the heck she's got herself in to :(

my wife is as excited as the kid. 

 

Here's the pros and cons. 

 

1- this school is in fact, a forefront performing theatre on Broadway. And the classes are actually on Broadway. She will get a taste of show biz. 

2- she does love ballet and performing Arts. 

3- the DOE even suggested that it's a rare privilege. And should not be passed up. 

 

 

Cons

The state ELA exams are coming up in third grade, I need her to ace them for the future middle school selections. 

I need her to keep up her grade average.

 

She will travel by schoolbus once a week to Manhattan, and it's a long rigorous schedule. It goes on 6 week cycles. She will be under pressure to keep up or get dropped. 

 

With that said. She wss prancing around the house all day yesterday. Very excited. I'd hate to disappoint her. But I'm looking into getting a tutor for her.
