Oh no! If you can get into the ENT today go there. Do you not and a GP? If you do try him next. I went in the morning my tonsils swelled up and tested neg for strep but my tonsils and fever said otherwise. I hate that rapid test 9 out of 10 times it's wrong for me and for some reason they never send it to the lab.

I get abcesses on my tonsils and that rapid test never works for me either.  I don't have a gp.

I dont have a fever but theyre painful.  Ear hurts now too. I need this fixed asap.  I cant work out, and i have another job interview on thurs

You really should find a good GP who you're comfortable with. 

Think of a GP as the conductor of an orchestra. He's the one that directs you on who to see. Then gathers the info to monitor your overall health.

If you don't have a fever, they're likely not infected yet. So, gargle with a strong solution of warm salt water, often. The solution should contact your tonsils for at least 30 seconds. A minute is better.

Ear pain. It still doesn't sound like an infection. But rather, whatever it is that your tonsils are trying to fight off, is causing congestion or swelling.

A neti pot has similar effects as salt water. (Bicarbonate). And if you use it right, it gets into your sinus cavities and ear canal. It does kill bacterial. And clears your congestion nicely. Use the squeeze bottle type nasal rinse. Not the actual neti pot.

After 9-11, like that November, my tonsils flared up badly. With an upper respiratory. It took months to get better. It got worse and worse. Over the years, I have recovered. Now it flares up like once a year. But I've learned to control it.  What I've said in the above posts is what I do. Tried and tested.

You really should see a doctor, ear infections can be incredibly painful and don't usually go away without treatment

 

Long night waiting for news from home , incredibly grateful that my friends and family are all safe but heartbroken for those who aren't.

 

In other news a routine check of my incredibly naive and immature 17 year old step daughters new smart phone has shown that she has been talking to a Moroccan man via facebook declaring love for each other and planning to marry when she's 18, it has all the signs of a green card scammer, unsolicited contact, checked to make sure she lives in America, declared love in record time 

Going to be a rough night here when her Dad sits her down to talk.
