oh wow! I've heard of people with extremely high pain tolerance and the disadvantages, one of them clearly being labor. how far along are you? Is it everything people say it is? I'm terrified thinking of mucus plugs, dark leaky nipples, nausea, weak pelvic floors. It all sounds like a horror movie.

It's a cultural thing, we are taught to be ''ashamed'' of it and not discuss it, which is bullpoop. Also the fact that periods are not the same for every girl. 

Some have really light, pain free periods that last a day or two. (damn lucky ones) Others have really heavy, painful periods that last over a week. PMS for some is nothing, some get horrible symptoms. There are also disorders, cysts, many things that are part of it. It sucks.

this always surprises me. It is inevitable, nature. We all have to go through it, why not talk about it? it just makes things worse in my opinion.

I thought I was dying (when I was 10) nope, just bound to bleed monthly until I hit menopause and then deal with a whole new set of problems. We really can't catch a break.

Today is 9 weeks and 2 days, so not that far.  As to the pelvic floor issues and pee accidents...those are fortunately not a side effect of the c-sections I've had.  

 

The milk, it gets everywhere, it isn't a big deal.  The nausea sucks, the vomiting all the time like I had with the first was way worse.

 

You should take my pregnancy experiences with some trepidation, I have really bad pregnancies and get pretty sick.  This time, the morning sickness has decided to come both ways.  Magical.    Most people have it easier.  If I had a career, I definitely wouldn't be pregnant again because there is no way that I could work.  The kids are worth it.  Maybe.  Ok, when they aren't screaming or crying or smearing poop on the floor.

Thankfully modern kids have better access to streaming video and such because I think that answers questions about other things that my parents also chose not to explain.

I wish my mom had done that too. I was sort of prepared because they school had talked about it but I still wasn't prepared. I think I was 12 when mine started and I'm pretty sure I was the first in my class to get it.
