That doesn't seem right to me. Must be illegal, how did she sign anything even?

She doesn't remember signing anything. During this time she was in bed pretty much 24 hours because of her depression. I don't know how he managed it.

Oh boy, maybe he signed for her.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

If he did I am kind of mad that they didn't see it. My dad was born left handed during a time when it was a really bad thing to be left handed and he was forced to write with his right hand. His handwriting sucked and he hated writing. If he signed for both himself and mom it would have been painfully obvious.

That is sure a mess. I hope they let you sort it out. Especially as she can't.

If you have permission to sign for someone, you'd sign it something to the tune of

"Joe Bob for Billy Bob As Attorney in Fact".

If you don't have permission to sign, then it's forgery.

If you sign someone else's name, it's Forgery + Criminal Impersonation.

Ah speaking of forgery, where's Tark...

They are going to close the account, that is not an issue. I am more mad with my dad and them. My dad was not smart when it came to financial stuff and mom was never involved, just let dad handle everything. Mom is a kind of person who just tags along. Doesn't really make decisions on her own. And I don't like to be mad at my dad because he is dead and can't defend himself so now I am mad at them.

Not necessarily. Don't the banks down there actually require the person to apply in person? I know now days you can open account online but you need to submit proof of who you are and stuff.

I have looked at their website. You apply online and you can either do an e signature or they send you papers home. I doubt my dad would be tech savvy enough for e signature so they probably sent stuff home to him.

Here we have a national ID number we use for everything. So it could be that all he needed was her national ID number. I do not know.

Did this transpire abroad?

May be it's legal in Sweden to defraud a bank by impersonating someone else....

It's legal in China to eat dog.

It's legal to beat up your wife in many countries :)

It's legal in NYC to pee on the street now. Just ask our mayor, Mr Deblasi-hole.....

But he says panhandlers are "annoying", and they're just doing it "for fun".....

I wanna get a camel and take it to his house, and have it pee all over his face.

Maybe everyone in Sweden know each other, and the bank wanted to give him some money for free...

"Hey Swede, is that you? oh #### what's up bro, here, just sign your wife's name here and take this money"

I've known a couple of people who are similar. When I worked at Pacific Air Ambulance, where we did retrievals from the South Pacific into NZ Hospitals, it seemed like every patient was the male, and every one of their wives had no idea. I remember one elderly woman who had never so much as written a check. Her Daddy did that sort of thing, and then her Husband of 60 years. She had a credit card, but no idea how much she could spend. We guaranteed payment for her all over town during her 6-week stay, to find out, in the end, they were multimillionaires, and her card didn't have a limit. I've never forgotten her. Bobby Ruth, and her Husband Bubba.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

OK, I gotta take a shower and get to the office.

Man my office sucks....

oh yeah, we went thru this...like yesterday?

I should buy a house in Colts Neck and move the whole operation to NJ.

Hmmm....

Now there's something to discuss. Most of the guys live in Staten Island anyway...
