I didn't know that the Dutch hates Sweden's guts :o

It is a friendly rivalry.

Wow that's bad...

Yes, it is. They increased the amount of injured to 16. So far no one seem to have died thankfully. And it wasn't the actual bridge that collapsed luckily. It was the scaffolding around it and they were going to do the molding for the new bridge when the scaffolding collapsed.

We always do a layover and it is still expensive, like between $800-1000 a person.  The Dane has only been back once in the 4+ years we've been here, but part of that is that he refused to go back without all of us in tow.  I'm refusing to ever do that again because it was just too much and it will be even worse when we have 3 kids.

The gun obsession, it is real.  Some of my husband's friends have maybe 100+ guns?  It is just excessive.

He'll come and through rye bread at you if you say that.

We can't even mention Sweden in this house, partly because of my ex, but partly just because of Sweden.

Yeah because you guys have to fly all the way from California :( What airline(s) do you guys fly with normally?

Haha! How about Norway? Most Swedes doesn't like Norway. Swedes usually try to give back our southern most region, Skane, to Denmark each year. There is seriously a group of Swedes who every year goes down to the south, try to dig that part of Sweden loose and, once again, come to the conclusion that it is not possible.

Yeah Norway is an ###hole...

Trophie? California?...

I looked at the filing place and not actual location

You know how there's jokes about blonde people? We have jokes about Norwegians being as dumb as blondes... (Sorry Norwegians!) I wonder if they have the same but for Swedes lol.

We like Norway, I actually speak a weird mix of Norwegian and Danish...LOL.  I'm in it just for the word koselig.  The Dane hates that word.  It is hard to hate on Norway when you live in a place in which everyone has a story about their Norwegian grandparent.  :P

We actually live in Northern Minnesota, but the prices were the same when we flew out of NY or Boston.  Last time we had to drive 6 hours down to Minneapolis, get on Iceland Air, transfer in Iceland, fly into Copenhagen, rent a car, drive to Aarhus, etc.

It was a nightmare (So was the time before that when SAS informed us they didn't have equipment to fly in fog and we'd need to drive from Aarhus to CPH and they had no interest in rescheduling our flights).  Flying out of our local airport would make the tickets around $2000 each.  Depending on the season, it can be hard to fly into a local city in Denmark too or to get both the inward and outward flights to use that same airport.

The daughter has finally left, after arriving Friday last, she flew out to Dulles this morning. 6 unrelenting days of bickering.

We left Tuesday morning to drive up to Memphis for the night, and at that point in time, she had talked the MIL out of selling the house. Told her it was a bad idea and made no financial sense.

We arrived yesterday afternoon to find a For Sale sign on the front lawn.

The Mil has already found a new house to buy. In town, two bedrooms, an end unit not fenced because there is no yard, with an alley in the rear where I can park my car. Her plan, arrived at purely in consultation with her nonresident daughter, is that we all move in together in less than half the space. So I can 'hear her if she calls'. I'm to take her there this afternoon at 13:30 so I can see how I like it.

I'm already terribly impressed.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Yeah I don't know why I looked at your filing location and not your actual location :P SAS seriously does not have equipment to fly in fog? Must be a very old tiny airplane they fly there then. Sucks that it is such a hassle for you guys to travel to Denmark. Such a beautiful country! And Norway is beautiful too, we just like to tease them. Maybe we're just secretly jealous of their nature...

Knocked off the clean-officing "early" last night, in hopes of zzz man.

Just then, WCG (World's Cheapest Gringo) e-mailed, answer WCG man.

And we checked in here, incorrigible we man.

Then, cat would not accept less than a thorough double- or Manyple-brushing, insistent miu man.

We ended up getting to bed at half-past 2, groggy we man.

did you guys know that the real original Coney Island hotdog is actually not Nathan's?

If fact, the founder of Nathan's used to work here.

And I think I'm a gonna go here for lunch now. Which is odd, because I'm usually the guy serving it, to a hundred little monsters, in my backyard...

You guys want a hotdog?1
