Been a busy day kid # 3's birthday.    Made her coconut cream pie as her birthday pie       and she wanted French dip and fires for her supper.

Husband passed his Learner's Permit test with 100% on the second attempt after failing on the first attempt!!!   Now I'm going to make him drive me to the gym this evening!

My opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, I did have courthouse weddings both times.

I agree. We were only going to have family and our closest friends and at the time she was my closest friend. We ended up just being me, my husband and his best friend as my dad suddenly became dying and we had to hurry to get married and start AOS. She has shown no interest in continuing to be my friend so I don't even know why she is inviting me at all. And she lives in the UK so it's not like I can just drop everything and go anyway. Oh well. Not going. Not going to overthink the whole thing either. Thank you guys for your input!

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

No photos either time.  The Dane didn't even have a nice enough shirt to wear.  LOL.

 

 I just looked it up at the average wedding cost is around 30k.  That is about half the cost of a decent house where I live - and millennials are wondering why they can't afford houses or to pay off their student loans.  :rolleyes:  Priorities.

We intended on doing another ceremony later, like a religious one in Iceland, but we haven't gotten around to it.  We probably never will as we are coming up on 5 years married soon.

Yeah we have talked about possibly having a ceremony but I don't think it will happen. We've been married for almost 2 years now.

Managed to avoid these mistakes last yr when buying a house, although I do slightly beg to differ with point #1. Houses can end up being decent investments as long as you:

1) live in them as your primary residence,

2) are able to secure a low down payment via one of the many available housing programs, and

3) live in them for at least 3 to 5 years to allow the house to appreciate above and beyond any closing costs.
