Woke up with a severe backache, but I have three appointments and can't reschedule them, fun.

I'll just have to pop up some pills, suck it up, and work. Good thing is I'll be sitting down and

I work from home!

trying to do this annoying thing where I think of something positive after complaining.

Not working so well, yet. But getting there

I am all caught up on this thread now. 

 

Trying to figure out how to respond to my friend who asked me if I could potentially come to her wedding next year... She never bothered to tell me she had a boyfriend, I found that out from her facebook posts and pictures. I have no idea when they got together and now they're getting married apparently. And I have no idea how to respond to her message. I have a feeling she only invited me because:

A: I invited her so she feels obligated to invite me

B: She thinks my feelings will be hurt if she doesn't invite me. 

I have no desire to go whatsoever when I am clearly the last person to know she even had a boyfriend.

my two cents, people get too involved in their lives and they forget. I forgot to invite one of my high school friends to my -second- wedding (I had a lot going on, she did go to the first one) and she took it personally, but I never knew she was in a relationship and even though she invited me to her wedding it was far away and I couldn't go. Planning weddings is stressful and you go through a list and try to coordinate a lot of things at once. I'd say don't take it personally, since it probably, most likely wasn't the intention. It all comes down to how close you were/still are. If you don't feel like going, don't go. But don't let it be about the fact she never told you about the boyfriend. I forgot to tell people that I thought were close to me, and in a digital era we rely a lot on Facebook to do our jobs for us!

We're not that close. And he started coming up in posts but for a long time I figured they were just friends from work hanging out. Her profile still says single and it was maybe 3-4 months ago that I realized they were more than friends. Guess I should just try to remind myself that maybe she just forgot. Thanks!

She hasn't set a date yet so I can't really say that I am busy since I don't even know when that will be. But I guess she will set a date eventually and I can say no then.

Awoke to first normal-ish morn this week, medical stuff over man.

It appears that, at least for the moment, we are in as few pieces as possible, intact we man.

 

On way to office, made surprise pop-in to bank to make a POTS deposit, business typhoon we man.

Employees and bank manager dropped their tasks and hastened to roll out the red carpet.

We mildly protested that it wasn't necessary this time, but they insisted, good training man.

The lucrative nature of the Pre-Owned Toilet Seat business can be a double-edged sword, truth man.

I don't get the whole phenomenon of inviting people to your wedding that you aren't close to.  I know it is a thing in some cultures to invite the whole village and third cousins, etc.  To me, it just seems like an extravagant waste of money.

My opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, I did have courthouse weddings both times.
