Hello,

My fiancé had his medical in Frankfurt and has everything together for the packet 3, so just waiting for that to arrive maybe this week. I’m wondering how you pay for the K1 visa. Do you do that online ahead of the interview or when you make the appointment for interview or at the interview? How do you make the interview appointment? Is it online?

Many thanks!

You have to pay  online in advance, you cannot make an appointment without payment. After you return P3 and they check it, you will reveice P4, which will tell you to make an appointment.

From the checklist for P3:

FEES: Immigrant Visa applicants who did not pay their fees through the National Visa Center must be prepared to pay the visa fee on the appointment date. For detailed information about immigrant visa fees please see our website. K Visa applicants must pay the application fee in the local currency equivalent. In order to pay the fee, you must create a profile with our Visa Service Provider at ustraveldocs.com/de. Information on the fee payment process is online. You will not be able to schedule your appointment without payment of the online fee.

Thank you. So can submit DS-160 and complete document delivery address online once case is “ready” in Frankfurt and then pay and schedule interview once he receives P4?

Yep, thats how it looks like. I will do it the same way. I think you can also pay before, like when you return the P3 but still have to wait for the P4 for the interview.

Hallo:)

Hello again, my fiancé went on to the US travel docs site and paid the fiancé visa fee. Now he is trying to do the document delivery address information but it is asking for a receipt number. Do you know what receipt number this is?

REF: Legal Termination of Marriage / German divorce degree

Hello

In June my fiancé filled the I-129F and today we did receive following REF:

"Submit a legible photocopy of the legal termination of marriage of (my name) and (my ex husband).

Such proof would normally be a final (absolute) divorce decree .... In order for the legal termination of a marriage to be considered valid for immigration purposes, it generally must be valid in the jurisdiction where it was terminated. In addition, the divorce must also be recognised in the jurisdiction where any subsequent marriage occurred.

Note: A divorce Nisi is not considered to be evidence of a final divorce. "

In the I-129F we did provide the standard German divorce degree which you receive from the court after the divorce is final.

Its called a "Beschluss" which was translated as ´Ruling´ which the translation office told me is correct. This paper clearly says ... "marriage register no.xxx is hereby divorced". I really don't understand what else they could possibly want to see?

Any ideas?

If there is other divorced Germans here ... what did you provide?

Thank you so much for any advice or idea!

Susi

REF: Legal Termination of Marriage / German

Hallo an alle!

Was habt ihr eingereicht? (falls schon mal geschieden ;) )

Lieben Dank für alle antworten und Ideen!

Susi

Hallo an alle!
