Any Dutch/American Couples?? [Part II]

My K1 case is shown as ‘ready’ today!

Sooo... how do I receive the information from the consulate? By email or will they send me a letter?

I finished DS-160 form as well as collecting all the documents from my fiance.

Can I start making an appointment for the interview or do I wait for the confirmation from the consulate?

Sorry for all the questions... I’m too excited to be at the ‘ending’ stage of K1 visa process 😅

Yess!!! As a reply to my e-mail the Embassy has send back my Package 3. Does anyone know what the Casenumber is to be filled out on the Checklist? Is it the confirmation number? (AA....) or the NVC number? (AMS...)

So the one we received from the NVC and not the confirmation number obtained via de DS-160? Sorry for the double check, I want to return it within an hour already haha, so excited!

What are your thoughts on the vaccinations? I just received package 3 with all the vaccinations required, but it seems that there are some exceptions. Do we need all the vaccinations listed? For me, that would mean getting the following: Influenza Type B (HIB), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Pneumococcal, and Influenza, Rotavirus. Last year I got an extra DTP since I thought it was a wonderful idea to go skating on the Pacific Beach San Diego boulevard and fell due to a not so flat land haha!

For me, it took from March 30th (e-mail from USCIS and NOA2) until today to receive information from the Embassy. However, I only received this Package 3 after I had e-mailed them not having received anything. They then e-mailed me package 3 with a date of April 3, so I think something went wrong when they were trying to send it to me or with the postal service. I'm not sure if usually you should get an e-mail or via post.

What I saw here is that it usually takes about 2 weeks to get your package 3. In there they ask to send back the DS-160 confirmation page, a copy of your passport and a signed paper saying you want to request an interview. They also give you a checklist of what to bring for the interview. After this we will receive more information... I hope..

Oh hello, nice to meet you too! That's cool, we should definitely meet up!

How did everything go for you? Smoothly until now? I'm still eagerly waiting for package 3 haha. Congrats on your wedding!

The wait for NOA2 took forever, but after that was a breeze! After interview, had my passport back within 4 days. Could be longer though, as has been happening to some people lately!

Thanks for the wishes! Just arrived in Hawaii for our honeymoon :D

My fiancé is learning Dutch at the moment. It's the cutest thing ever.

Thanks darling!

Am not pushing futher (yet) to get my man to learn more Dutch... I'm sure we'll get there at some point. I very much plan on teaching any future kids Dutch, so either he learns, or the kids and I will have our secret language, hehe  (which is what I keep throwing back at him when it comes up in conversation).

I did not need any vaccinations.

That being said: I already had Hep A & B, and DTP.    You say you have DTP already, which is def. required, so you're good there.

Then:

Influenza is the "griepprik" which I thought I would get as it is/was within season (I had medical in Feb), but ended up not needing it, so yay!

Rotavirus and Pneumococcal you should have had as part of the "rijks vaccinatie programma".

Varicella is "waterpokken", which NL does not give vaccinations for, which means that we (but also UK and some other countries) get a waiver for that one. They'll ask if you've had it. If you've had it, say that and you'll be fine. Not sure what happens if you haven't had it, but don't think they'll give you a shot anyway.

So in any case, you should only need one or two vaccinations.

Just bring as much vaccination evidence as possible. There's even the option to request your shots from the "rijks vaccinatie programma". Not exactly sure where to find it right now, but just do a google search if you want that. It showed all my vaccinations from when I was born. Depends on your age though. I'm a 90's baby :)

Thanks! That's very helpful. I think I'll get the HepA and B at my own doctor as soon as possible.

I also requested the vaccination records via the RIVM. However, this took me 2 months, including 10 calls to very confused but yet very kind workers from the RIVM. So for others; please request it in time haha! Maybe it's the location (South Limburg) that makes it very hard for institutions to contact me haha (waiting on my package 3 for 5/6 weeks and my vaccination records for 2 months)!

I'm from 1991, but on my vaccination records no Rota/Pneumococcal is present, I think I remember something about my mother not wanting to do it (sadly my mother has passed away and my father doesn't have more information than stated on the card). But maybe I'll wait to receive those at the medical if necessary, since they are diseases that are mainly for kids and I could still hope for an exemption.

Oh wow. I'm in North Limburg and I got mine within a week. I'm an 80s baby.

My physician told me I didn't need any extra shots. I haven't had waterpokken so we'll just have to see how that goes. I'll survive one shot 😓
