The page that lists the documents required for the consular process, is listing both the passport and Identity card. So does it mean we need both to be able to apply for a VISA?

Hi everyone!

I am Italian/American and my boyfriend is Dutch. We live together in Italy.

I feel stuck because we don't know what to do. He visited Iraq in 2013 and because of that cannot visit the US without a visa... but the consulate(s) are not processing visitor visas and we don't know when they will start again. We want to visit the US together before finalizing our plan to move to the US, as our move depends entirely on whether or not he feels comfortable in NYC where I am from.

Unfortunately I think you are out of luck...the only remedy would be if he visited Iraq in official capacity as part of the Dutch Military or diplomatic corps.

https://photos.state.gov/libraries/netherlands/19452/public/IVNIVVOGAPPSUPP.pdf

@Hadassah123 Hi Hadassah123, It seems the PDF link you posted is broken already:  https://photos.state.gov/libraries/netherlands/19452/public/IVNIVVOGAPPSUPP.pdf, I also need it to appy for VOG, may I ask if you still have a copy of this PDF file, and could you please upload it to share or pm me @dittoit if so? I will appreciate very much!

You can get the letter off of the state.gov website. On the page with the Dutch civil document requirements, there is a letter under the police records tab. It says supporting letter for Dutch VOG.

Had my interview today in Amsterdam and as expected the experience was very pleasant and not stressful at all. Everyone was very nice and I was out in no time.

I wrote a review of the experience: Netherlands US Consulate Reviews (visajourney.com)

Yes, the link is broken. But I already got it from other source anyway, thanks for your reply.

Could you list the source? I also need the letter but the link is still broken on the original .gov website...

I was looking for it too and my fiancé found it using the web archive website. Hopefully it works for you too!

Thanks. In the end it actually worked out by simply taking a screenshot of the NVC webpage and sending that along with the VOG application form.
