That was his doing as well.

As governor, Pence also happily signed an additional part of that bill protecting people based on gender, sexual orientation, etc.

Now that is WAY over-simplifying the narrative history of Mike Pence on this issue. ;)

When you come out of certain parts of the evangelical community, you get to know how things tend to operate. Trump is seen a lot differently in those circles than the general public or even his average supporters do. Their motivations for voting were very different. Trump has a purpose, a very special God-appointed purpose of two different things (at least there are two separate ideas as to what his purpose is). One was to sow havoc and be the catalyst for edging the events of Revelation closer to fruition, and thereby harkening the return of the Messiah. And the other was electing him for the purpose of self-inflicting his removal and installing by default the true humble Christian warrior for the cause, that would restore America to it's proper 'Puritan' values. You'll be amused with disbelief, but this is a real thing. A disturbingly real thing. Something that has caused a bit of a schism in the community. Even to an evangelical who couldn't bring themselves to elect someone who gave them a severe pause, they will indeed see there's a destined design in the details - and are quick to point it out. People do what they feel is necessary to get what they want.

Evangelical conservatives think Pence is their cup o' tea. That's all that pretty much matters at this point, us regular folks don't have a choice in the matter. All is rotten to the core.

Women and religious rights might be trampled upon, but at least we get back to the fallacy of stable politics as usual type thing in Washington, with the added bonus of not potentially invoking WWIII. Tradeoff?

Huh.. that's an interesting story. I am amused, but what amuses me is the lack of credit given to Christians for adapting, at least forcefully.

It was clear Christians were far used to getting their way politically. That's what happens when anyone is in such an extreme majority over a long period of time. Christians were forcefully adapted to the notion that one cannot discriminate against blacks, women, and more recently (think Kim Davis and co), gays/lesbians. And while I gladly chided them on not understanding the repercussions of not learning from history, they have indeed adapted.

While I think every religion is equally nonsense, what's not equal is the actions of each religion.

I'm only going by actions. I find it pointless to speculate on subjective beliefs alone without the action to back it up.

Whether Pence truly believes the things you talk about, is a pointless thing for me to consider.. whether he respects the fact that he cannot use government to discriminate against gays and lesbians, it's clear by his actions.

Christianity encompasses a broad group that does not fit your description. MLK jr did not struggle to accepto black people. If you want to generalize in at least narrow your attacks to the subgroups behaving badly and leave Christ out of it.

- Doesn't even mention "Christ", mentions the actions of people who identify as Christians

- Whines about attacking "Christ"

Take a break.

If this was "Christ" people were following to begin with no one would even be persecuted.

I beg to differ

That's different. Trump is not Obama, so he can do whatever he wants. And if Obama did it, Trump must do it ten times over.

The idea in the MDRs minds was not to vote for a president with integrity. They wanted someone to top Obama in every aspect they considered his actions inappropriate or reproachable.

Ha ha! Statutes of obstruction and threatening with intents aside, the biggest thing to come out could be, Trump "wire tapped" the FBI???

World leaders will not want to discuss anything with Trump, as nothing will be in confidence.

From AP

Trump lawyer: Tax returns from past 10 years show "no income of any type from Russian sources" with few exceptions.

Hmm..Lincoln -I tell the truth with few exceptions.

wonder what stunt the Mercers will try to pull...

Spicer "That's not a threat, he simply stated a fact, the tweet speaks for itself"

.            "I've talked to the president. He has nothing further to add on that"

So Trump may cancel future daily briefings because Trump is "dismayed" the press "parses every little word."

Oh my.  But hey Spicey's got a great story to tell about beef and China!!!
