trump supporters like/liked that he wasn't presidential.  They thought that made him more trustworthy and less political.  That's what got him elected.  He won't change.

I do to an extent, especially for women's rights. The guy's a little too heavy in the religion dept for my liking.

I believe that the religious freedom bill was his doing.  Women's rights, LGBTQ rights, etc

Not to mention his EO's on his travel ban also dealt with countries that don't respect womens rights, gay rights, etc.

As governor, Pence also happily signed an additional part of that bill protecting people based on gender, sexual orientation, etc.

When you come out of certain parts of the evangelical community, you get to know how things tend to operate. Trump is seen a lot differently in those circles than the general public or even his average supporters do. Their motivations for voting were very different. Trump has a purpose, a very special God-appointed purpose of two different things (at least there are two separate ideas as to what his purpose is). One was to sow havoc and be the catalyst for edging the events of Revelation closer to fruition, and thereby harkening the return of the Messiah (you see when God doesn't do what you want fast enough you make a little 'sacrifice' to hasten things along). And the other was electing him for the purpose of self-inflicting his removal and installing by default the true humble Christian warrior for the cause, that would restore America to it's proper 'Puritan' values. You'll be amused with disbelief, but this is a real thing. A disturbingly real thing. Something that has caused a bit of a schism in the community. Even to an evangelical who couldn't bring themselves to elect someone who gave them a severe pause, they will indeed see there's a destined design in the details - and are quick to point it out. People do what they feel is necessary to get what they want.

Evangelical conservatives think Pence is their cup o' tea. That's all that pretty much matters at this point, us regular folks don't have a choice in the matter. All is rotten to the core.

Women and religious rights might be trampled upon, but at least we get back to the fallacy of stable politics as usual type thing in Washington, with the added bonus of not potentially invoking WWIII. Tradeoff?
