I have a question. I only met my Fiancé 1x face to face in person.. We met in Dubai and spent 2 weeks there together.  Is that too little time too prove real relationship? He already had his interview and in AP for over 2 months! We met on Facebook September 2015..became a couple May 2016..engaged June 2016 over video call..met in September 2016 in Dubai and he re proposed with an engagement ring. We were with eachother everyday in Dubai..never left each other's side. Can someone please tell me if this is ok or a cause for denial..ty so much!

It's definitively the bare minimum, and especially when your fiancé is from a country where the US CO may be looking for any reason to deny the visa. Do you have other red flags? Age, religion?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Sometimes a religious difference is a red flag, and sometimes the woman being older than the man is a red flag, and in the current political climate, his being Muslim is definitely a red flag. (All of which totally sucks, and I'm sorry.) Probably you would have been better off if you'd spent more face-to-face time before filing K1. But there isn't all that much you can do at this point... you just have to wait for the AP to run its course.

If you are denied the fiance visa, you can re-file (I've heard that appealing is rarely successful although I can't cite cases) in which case you definitely should plan another visit for as long as you can - (or more than one!) with lots of photos and evidence.

Alternately, you can meet up again and get married and then file the I-130 for a CR1 (spousal) visa. Try to get family from both sides to attend the wedding (even if it's just a civil ceremony) so there's lots of proof that your families accept your marriage and think it's legit.

Good luck - I hope you come out of an AP with an approval, but if you don't, try not to be discouraged. If you love each other, all of the separation now will be worth it when you're together forever!

If they took his passport it's probably a good sign... I think if they were going to flat out deny him they'd have let him keep his passport. They take the passport in order to put the visa in it and send it back.

I'm not 100% on that, but it makes logical sense... (not necessarily a factor with immigration, but we'll take what we can get, right?)
