Hello all,

First, I'd like to thank everyone for being such a helpful community. I have found the guides and forum posts to be very informative.

I am preparing to file the I-129f (myself and American, SO Canadian) and wanted to get opinions on specific parts of the form. SO previously held a Student visa in the US (~ 3 years ago) and then returned to Canada legally. I believe that means that an A-Number and US Social Security number would already exist - is that true? See I-129f Part 2 (fields 2 and 3). If so we will need to find that info again.

Thanks in advance!

I had a student visa but did not have an A-number assigned till we received the NOA2 as far as I know. I had a social security number but that was because I did OPT after I completed my programs. So I believe your SO would only have the SSN if he/she was legally employed in the US at any time during or after his studies.

Thank you for your response :)
