Hi VJ user  am new here and I have a few questions that is getting me confused over my AOS which I filled in on April my question goes like this. 1, my wife did not meet up the poverty guideline and we decide to use a joint sponsor which is my pastor in the church and he and his wife said they will help and they gave me their tax return form for 2016 which they file together as family. 2 our pastor is not working is only his wife that is working the man himself has retired I told him to give me his wife w2 because they ask for it which he said NO,  3 on the 1-864 form they ask for annual income which they are not ready to tell me so that makes me so confused. And he keeps telling me to use what he has given to me but am afraid because I don't want to be denied. Please people I really need your advice  Thanks.

You are need somebody whit good taxes. If you are send them and this will be not ok for them they will ask you again or denied you . So you are can lose case and next year

Find another sponsor, this will not work unless he can provide everything needed. He does not seem to understand

that you can not get approved with just what he has given you.

A joint sponsor must not only provide a completed and signed I-864 (including total income), but also all supporting evidence that goes with it. This includes at least the most recent year's tax return information, which includes either a tax transcript OR a tax return + evidence of the income (i.e. W2s). If the joint sponsor is unable or willing to fulfill all the requirements, then they cannot be a joint sponsor.

 

I'm not sure what to tell you about the annual income piece...that's their decision to provide the information or not.

 

You can ask if they can provide the tax transcript instead of the return + W2 (https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript). However, if they're unwilling to give you her W2 or the annual income, then I'm doubtful they'll agree to this.

Not gonna work . I understand they are trying to protect their privacy and probably do not understand it is a requirement.  Sad situation to be in

One thing you can do is give them the I-864 package with your financials in a envelope have them put all their I-864 information in it tell them to seal it. You go to pick up and they can see you put the I-864 envelope in your AOS package ready to send off to USCIS. Full transparency.

But FYI, 2016 isn't the only income year they need to state. They need to put on the I864 total income for 2015, 2014 also. You don't need a W2 for 2016 if you provide a Tax transcript.

I have dealt with many people with joint sponsors who would not hand over to the petitioner their financials so this was devised. This idea seemed to satisfy all.

Hi guys how are you  all doing today,  I have more question again from my own understanding if you want to use a joint sponsor which they are husband and wife I think the two of them must fill out the I-864 form right? 2 is only the wife that is working the husband  has retired but they file their taxes together and is the husband name that is the first on their tax , 3 who will be my main sponsor  4  in part 6 question 3 of the I -864 form which person information will i put there.   please I need a response asap. Thanks guys
