My Fiance had his medical with St. Andrews on April 6 2017, he then had his interview on April 10, 2017. The interviewing officer asked him about 5 questions.

1. How he proposed to me, 2. when did we meet 3. where do I work etc. after the interview she advised my Fiance' that he was approved however he forgot his original Birth certificate. the officer said it was ok to just use DHL and submit the birth certificate. the Ceac website changed from Ready to Administrative processing on April 10, 2017. The case was updated on April 25, 2017 when they received the medical but is still under Administrative processing. Since submitting his birth certificate the case ha been updated on several occasions  from April 25, 2017, to May 1, 2017 to May 5, 2017 to May 8, 2017 and now May 9, 2017. But the status still remains at 'Administrative Processing." is this normal?

Yes. I feel like those updates are meaningless and people read too much into them. No human is providing those updates, it's just something the visa system produces.

Nothing wrong with writing an email and asking for an update.
