Maybe. But the USCIS instructions says a father has to send marriage certificate but not a mother. My husband is deceased. I am applying (I am the mother) to emigrate alone. I am praying it gets sorted out before they legislate to end ‘chain migration’ 😢

Thank you for your input. I hope this is all that is wrong. It is reassuring to have fellow applicants to turn to.

Both parents are required to submitt marriage certificate, but if youre widowed you ahould submit death cert of the father as proof of evidence

I will send both and my own birth certificate just to be safe. (If that’s what they want).

You should give them a call or try to submit a case inquiry online. Funny enough, I hadn't heard anything from them since may until I tried to submit a case inquiry online. it wouldn't let me do it because it said my case was within normal processing times. Then two days later I get an approval. Don't know if it was a coincidence or if my attempt at the inquiry somehow nudged them to look at my case Idk . But try it and see if it helps.

I tried to call them but they just sent me to the robot answer... 😥

My son just called USCIS and they told him that they wrote to him on Saturday requesting further evidence. We can’t think what they may be asking for. My PD is May 24th. So we are close.

I see,i hope you guys will get the NOA2 soon after that.

Plz anybody has any idea when this Bill is coming in effect?  And what about petitions already submitted

I have read both Bills. Bob Goodlatte’s Bill prevents petitions for parents from being processed as of the date of legislation. That will include any petitions pending with USCIS or the NVC

Should they push this through in return to obtain amnesty for the Dreamers we could be looking at before 5th March.
