Form I130 received by NSC Nov 2, 2016

I filed form i130 for my Canadian husband through an attorney. The Nebraska service center received this in Nov 2, 2016. Irritated because we had given all of our completed papers to the attorney in June 2016. And we aren't sure if the attorney sat on them or mailed them off. He said up to 6 month wait on 1st set of papers.....it's been over 6 months, no updates. I am currently in Canada with my hubby waiting....I will have to leave soon, even if it's not complete. We still have to get him to Montreal for his health exam, because it's the only place in Canada with a US surgeon general to do his health exam! I respect the process but not the waiting. I can't believe that nobody updates the processing times. Last update was February....one feed I read said 158 days, another was up to 6 months, some people posted said it took 11 months. They make you feel like marrying someone from Canada Is a crime. Would just like to get on with it. Our entire lives are on hold.

Your timeline is throwing me off- it says your AOS is pending..

 

If you gave the paperwork to your attorney in June- you are 100% correct that he waited to mail them. The process for a spousal visa takes approximately a year. If you are talking about AOS- that is always anywhere from 8-12 months. If you are talking about the medical exam- there is also one in Vancouver.

 

We all had to wait and it sucks but Canada is a relatively easy country to immigrate from- there is always something to be thankful for.

It's for my husbands green card and permanent residency. The form i130 is processing still, with no updates. The Nebraska service center received our paperwork on Nov 2, 2016. We can't do step 2 or 3 until step 1 gets approved.

Same timeline as before. It is a waiting game! I wish I had different news for you!
