HI! My fiance from England is here on an B-1 visa that will be turning into an E-1 visa. We are looking to purchase a house and I would need help getting approved for a loan. Would he be able to be approved for a mortgage? And does anyone know a good company to talk to? Thank you!

You would have to be the primary buyer and he would be joint with you. Many mortgage companies allow people on visas to purchase house, especially with am American spouse.

The main problem will be that he has no credit history, not the visa (I am assuming he didn't live in the US before). As the other person above said, you would have to be the primary on the loan and they will also run your credit history.

You should do some loan "shopping" and check what they offer and the mortgage rate they give you. You should also check with them what you can do to get the mortgage rate as low as possible. Small changes in the rate can make a big of difference on the total amount you have to pay.
