Actually, it is. Were you absent for Loretta Lynch? Or just caught a case of amnesia?

So what is the law.. or rather, the Constitution, concerning the Presidents authority to dismiss members of his cabinet? I thought it was perfectly legal to do so.

It is but not while said President is under investigation. Like I said 1973 the last time a President did this.....

This thread is BS..

I think every American should have to go to civics school before they can vote in the next election.  Do you understand what that means to fire the FBI director?

Isn't this a fairly common occurrence?  I mean the last civics class I took never mentioned the FBI directorship being a lifetime appointment.  Also, wasn't this guy almost singlehandedly responsible for Hillary losing to President Trump?

Congress has their own investigation going. How's Trump gonna stop that?

He wont, they will say I am not so sure what I will get out of Trump FBI appointee ( if he can get one through) so they will create a Special Counsel.

For cause yes..

Now what is going to happen is that Trump is going to trigger a special counsel...he screwed his own pooch.  Once that happens the S.C. will be able to go anywhere and look anywhere. Remember Bill Clinton's impeachment for lying about getting a you know what?  That started because of a land deal.     Going to ladbrooks now to change my bet on Trump surviving 4 years.

Wasn't President Clinton impeached for lying under oath?  The details are immaterial.

I think most history books cover Nixon and the Sat night massacre.

FBI term ship is ten years. Which makes this firing bizarre. He fired the guy who actually helped him win the election.

Trumpgate.....

Like I said in the other post, we are still waiting for evidence of any collusion.  Given that President Obama's Administration was keeping a close eye on Trump and his team, I would think any actual evidence would have surfaced already.

Given Congress is investigating Trump, getting rid of his cabinet members doesn't stop that investigation. I'm sure he well knows that. So I don't really see how this parallels Nixon.. his guilt was out in the open. Regarding Trump and Russia all there is, is conspiracy theories.

The other thing I fail to see is how this impacts the FBIs investigation into the fictitious collusion?  I mean Comey wasn't doing this on his own, the wheel will keep turning, and money will continue to be spent.

Ehhhh many would say Obama felt he was above the law.  DAPA was a bit of an over reach

A bit of an overreach (in some folks opinion not mine) in a executive order and a thinly disguised attempt to derail what may evolve into a criminal investigation is not in the same above the law grouping.
