My wife and I received 2 letters for Green Card Interview for different dates

Hi All,

 

I made a concurrent application for Adjustment of Status (I-485, I-130) based on marriage to an American national last year. I received an I-797 notice to appear for an interview next week.

 

Surprisingly, my wife received a letter from the Newark field office (G-56) asking for us to appear for an interview at a later date.

 

I am confused why we should both be called for the same interview twice to the same field office on different dates and present the same documents?!

 

What is the implication of receiving a G-56 at this stage?
