Hello Everyone,

I created this account just now to give an update on my filing process. I stumbled on VJ last year October and I have been an every day silent reader since that time. I sent our filing docs to the Chicago Lockbox and I will give a run down of our timeline below;

 * Filing documents were sent from Chicago Lockbox to the Nebraska Service Center

* Priority Date for I-130(NOA 1) - July 13, 2017
*Approval Date for I-130 (NOA 2) - January 19, 2018 (Hard copy letter received in the mail January 26, 2018, 8 duplicated text messages stating case status updated, an email stating that documents have been sent to the NVC for visa processing and a USCIS app update stating the same)
*190 days from NOA1 to approval

*Priority Date for 1-129 (K3) (NOA 1)- August 11, 2017
*Case Closed for I-129(NOA 2) - January 18, 2018 (No hard copy letter received, just 8 duplicated text messages saying case status changed, an email stating case closed and benefit or status received through other means and a USCIS app update stating the same)

NB: I will like to add that after I got the texts/USCIS app update/email stating that the I-129 (K3) was closed, I called the customer service line last Friday, spoke with a Tier 1 who couldn't give me any insight. He advised me to call on a Monday between the hours of 8am - 11am and ask to speak with a Tier 2.

 I did just that and the Tier 2 said he can only tell me that the I-129 was closed but a letter has been sent to be printed out regarding the I-130 which would either be an approval or denial. True to his word, we waited a couple of days like he asked and got the NOA 2 approval for the I- 13O in the mail today. I also signed up for the USPS Informed Delivery and saw a snapshot of the front of the approval letter before the mail man arrived. Kindly sign up if you have not (if the service is available in your area)

The wait at Nebraska can only be imagined but I had a good mix of uplifting emotions today upon seeing the approval. Please hang in there if you are still waiting at Nebraska being that they are quite backlogged. The good news is that they are looking at July cases because mine is one of them.

PS: I wrote this long epistle in case anyone else is about to give up like I was.

Same here. I was approved on Dec 16 and I still haven't received a welcome letter from NVC yet. Did your case status update online? What does it say? Mine just changed on Jan 19 to "Case was sent to department of state"

we have almost the same approval date and the same center :) let's hope things proceed smoothly!

Good luck

Congratulations!

Now good thing is that the worst waiting part is over. but you're still going to need allot of patience. my case was approved at 26th dec. and there's no letter from NVC yet. it's been almost 1 month. hopefully you'll get it earlier then my case. but recent posts are showing that allot of folks are having the same kind of issue. do not want to spoil your happiness but usually at this point we think that wait is over. but unfortunately it's not over just yet.

So wait about a month or so for the NVC case number to be assigned?

Hello Everyone, I wanted to inquire about the NVC completion process.We happen to send our PACKET IV on the 19th of December and on Jan 22nd received a checklist from NVC saying W2 missing.However we have been  asked not to send these over to  NVC, instead directly to the embassy .They even said that they will schedule your interview without having reviewed the missing documents.Is this an indicator that our case is complete?

May 30 PD TSC

RFE sent on Jan 5, received Jan 10

We sent it back last week via certified mail and it arrived Thursday morning at the PO Box. Delivery confirmed this morning at 8:17 am.

How long until our adjudications officer looks at it and moves our case along? Would calling Tier 2 supervisor give me any information?

Agreed the hardest part is over, this next step take 6 week but don't sit there and wait for a letter cuz they just might end up getting in with in 8 weeks so it's best to call NVC instead waiting on the letter.

yiu don't have to wait on the letter you can call them and find out if they received it, once they do wait about a week or 2 to get a case number ht it really take 2 weeks.

called NVC today. they say that in there system it shows that my pt was approved and then sent to them at 9th January. but they hasn't received it so they don't know where it is.

I've waited over a month. called NVC today. they said that they are aware of case approval which is showing in there system. but they are waiting for the approval letter from USCIS. i dont know how long does it take for mail to reach NVC from USCIS . in there record it shows that it's been 17 days now since USCIS sent them my approval.

My petition was approved on 29th September and NVC received it on 19th .Nov..We called too late to inquire why hasn't NVC received and later on discovered that our packet was misplaced and that caused the delay . Post approval of ur case start calling NVC from the third week and once received and u choose an agent then again call them and get the processing done over the call.That saves a lot of time.Try calling morning 8:00-8:3O they answer in less than 10 mins vs noon where they keep u waiting for 30-40 mins.

my case status was updated first at 26th Dec: says name update, my wife received a letter a few days latter in her mailbox. says, your case has been approved and sent to NVC.(my lawyer kinda ruined my name while filling I-130 instead of my name in there she put patienter's name in the column instead of beneficiary )

now it updated second time at 9th Jan says that case was sent to Department of State. thinking of waiting another 2 weeks then i'll contact NVC in case of no letter or mail. please update us with your case progress too so i'll get some idea. since your case was approved before mine.  good luck!

Update: I called NVC today and was told that they just received my case today from USCIS!

Now they told me to wait a week or two for a letter from them with our assigned case number  :)

Thanks for sharing this info. So call NVC in one week for the delivery confirmation?  Once they received the mail they took 3 weeks to assign a NVC case number? And all DS form and support form and visa fee happens after that I guess.
