i really like how helpful you are and how you're keeping the spirits up here. keep it up :)

I am about at my wits in though with Nebraska, they have started approving cases in May and in June. I have a PD 5/8 and a 5/8 was approved just not mine, so I am trying to be patient.

We got our approval letter in the mail today!!!!   The bad news is I got laid off from my main full time job yesterday :(  I have a part time second job, so i'm having to pickup extra hours there.  I don't know what i'm gonna do at the NVC stage when I have to provide proof of income to meet the minimum requirements.  Will they ask for pay stubs or can I just get away with my tax records?

I think they will ask for 2016 tax return and a letter of employment..If you feel uncertain do you have a family member who can help with sponsorship ? @eoughphily

I would suggest you to start looking for joint sponsor.2016 tax return will not be enough for you because by time, your wife will be interviewed ,they might ask for 2017 tax return.

they will ask for 2015 tax return and 2016 tax return, can't ask for 2017 tax return as it isn't filed till 2018

This is 2018!!. They just got NOA2.  Still long way to go. At least 4-6 months up to interview. Even though they can submit 2014,2015 and 2016 tax return during nvc process, they might ask for 2017 tax return during interview  because most of the people submit their tax return by mid April deadline
