What about the information on this website. Is it worth it is it reliable?  When I check my timeline I made here it says my case should be adjudicated between November and December of 2017. This wait is making upset with each passing of the months.

The information on the USCIS website is hardly reliable, it is best to keep checking the self reported data on THIS website, and to reliably update your own information for others. There was a period of 3 months the Potomac information wasn't updated for at all, and when I called to question it they told me that the information was updated and that January was just a heavy month, then I stated that I knew people were being processed from March, and that they were lucky they were a government agency because if they were a private company  and they ran their updates like this they would be out of business in no time. So that agent probably black listed me and my wife is probably never coming now haha. Moral of the story never trust USCIS website information.

Hello every one, I just wanted to share my experience because this forum was so helpful to me..

I filed i130 for my 17 month old son back in May 2017. Priority date is 5/5/2017. Since then status online said Case was received. It only changed yesterday to " case was sent to department of state". And received approval letter on the same day with notice date of 10/31. So the case was approved without me knowing 6 days prior to the status change on their website. So it took exactly 6 months to get an approval for a baby.

Service ccenter : Potomac...

US citizen.

Made a mistake here...sorry I meant as of September. Anyway, USCIS website is not reliable as others indicated.

So I would get the letter in the mail before the case tracker updates?

Not necessary. The case tracker is not reliable. Some members got the update online then got their letter in the mail later. Some others the opposite. so it can be either this or that unfortunately. I am always wondering why such a simple tracking system, I would assume, is not reliable at all. They can do a better job than this counting how much money they cash in.

Also, you can always call customer service and request to speak to a tier 2 person who can look and tell you if it was approved or still pending. Many have done so.

After how many days or months of waiting is good to call uscis tier 2?.

My case is 164 days old but I I'm planning to call after 6 months or 180 days?. Or I'm suppose to wait longer than that without calling?

Nebraska is just getting into Feb cases, there is no point in calling tier 2 for a May filing, we just have to wait.
