Obama didn't do the right thing about Hilary Clinton, he went further and endorsed her for President even though her dirty laundry was being aired in public.

The principles of the freedom of individuality is something enshrined into the philosophy of what our founders envisioned for this country, and largely is what makes America and the basis of it's freedoms great. It's not a privilege to be treated as an individual, we are body to bones all the same with personalities and thoughts that make us unique and furthermore equal in the Constitution - whether those thoughts are accepted as stupid or smart... we are all human individuals, not subhuman. If one group of individuals hold themselves so lofty and high over another as to feel that their individuality 'trumps' another this is how we get ourselves into the current problems that face society (and has nearly destroyed it in the past). One could say that the lack and inability to want to believe in fellow human beings as individual could be seen as showing a lack of empathy and respect for your fellow human-kind, or nearly feeling superior to others. Rather smacking of elitism, for lack of a better word - something that most sides decry. No offense of course, I was raised rather old school. Do unto others may be a religious directive but it's one based in good wisdom. If you want others to treat you as a free thinking individual, and not ready to aggressively dismiss you as not one worthy to waste time on, one had best be cautious to give others the same courtesy, whether your own ego feels they deserve it or not.
