Dear Kind VJ Users -

less than two weeks time i will be entering the USA with my K-1 Visa. my PoE will be Atlanta.

I would like to know more about Atlanta PoE and will be happy if i can get some updated advice from other users who have entered the USA through ATL.
1. Can i be in the same line with the immigration line?
2. Apart from my passport and sealed envelope from the Embassy, what else should I prepare for? Any other documents that the immigration officers might be needed from me??
3. Will I be given any form or stamp or any type of documents upon completing the immigration check / interview at the ATL?? how about the I-94? how can i get a copy after my arrival, I'm really worried so i wont jeopardize anything and follow the instructions upon my entry into the USA with my K1 visa.

Thank you for your kind advice in advance and i appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Ayobami

I came in at Atlanta Feb 2016, join the usual immigration line and give the K1 envelope along with your passport to the agent, they will send you to the far left where there is a desk for those immigrating.

When I came they took my paperwork and passport and told me to take a seat, a few minutes later she called me up, stamped my passport and that was it.

Took very little time, the worst part was my nerves!

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I came in via ATL in June 2015.

1) I asked, and was directed to the normal immigration line for visitors.

2) once I got to the immigration counter I stated that I was travelling on k1 and presented the package and my passport. The immigration officer opened the package, looked through it, tapped on his computer, did the digital finger print and photograph and then gave me a card with a number on it. He told me to collect my bag  and then go through customs, showing them the card.

3) They directed me to a waiting area. I was there about 30 minutes, and then someone came out with my passport and told me I was all done and could continue my journey (i had a connecting flight).

4) you can find your i94 online after a few days (google for how to do that). I wasn't given a physical i94.

There was little in the way of questioning however the first officer I saw did ask me if I understood what the k1 visa was, and what I had to do once I entered the USA (ie get married, file for AOS). Obviously I did know this. I recall a post on here recently where someone claimed to have been denied entry because they suggested they "might" get married. So make sure you are clear that you understand that you are there to get married, and that you have no doubts about it

**Post moved from K1 Process to Progress Reports. Question is not about a K1 Process or Procedure.

I too came through Atlanta and had a pretty easy experience. It was 5 years ago, though, and I don't know if things have changed. Unlike @Limey I had a dedicated line for K Packets and I did not have to wait after the officer took all my information and did his thing.
