Guys, I lived in a jurisdiction for a year and did not even realize that I was required to file local taxes there (in 2015). 

I have contacted the town and sent in my tax return as of yesterday..my interview is in the first week of September. I did ask and was told that no criminal or civil charge was out on me because of this and I am in good standing. 

How big of a deal do you think this is? Am i  in big trouble in my interview? I have filed every other federal, state, local tax that I was required to file.

If it's all resolved with your local jurisdiction I wouldn't worry. You can bring evidence along with you to your interview to show the matter is sorted out, should they ask for it.

THank you for the reply Alex, youre the best. That was what my thought was too. I will bring all the information and provide if they ask for it. If not, I will let it be as the matter will be resolved before the interview.

Yes, Naana, please take all the originals and additional evidence that you may think relevant. You may not be asked for it, but it's always safe to have some extra docs with you. I got all the stamps that I was out of country ready to show from the passport (and they looked at those) along with itineraries-flight infos (they didn't ask for it, but you never know...)

So what I have is the tax I have filled yesterday with copies of cashier checks as payments. Think that should be ok ?

guys quick question : signing the two photographs will be in the interview day or oath ceremony day. coz my cousin she did not sign the two pictures , but they gave her two papers to sign . one of these two paper was attached by the pictures she`s already sent with the application. she did not sign on the pictures at interview day at all??? is that normal plus they took her picture by cam at interview day as well as fingerprints for her left and right index.

 

Is it normal not to sign on her pictures at interview day ?

I had my interview and brought photos just in case, but the IO did not ask for them.  Hopefully normal.

Thanks sir , she`s already put in line for oath ceremony, but any idea how long take to receive the letter by mail?

Yup!  Honestly I don't think they'll even ask you though.

I hope they don't. I'll take all the info anyway. I was surprised that I didn't even receive a notice from the township..Just happened to check if I was required to file the tax ( I was going through all the details in my application) and I was. Guess that was lucky. 

 

Its scary to think thought that something like that can ruin your life.
