Oh wow I thought it was faster online

but for some people takes longer to be inline than other, I seen people being put inline with days of fingerprints

If my FP were taken over a month ago does that means my background check it's till panding??

I'm speculating here but I think it could be one of two things:

1. Background check taking a while to come back
2. If your field office is a busy one, they may be trying to clear a backlog or cases in front of yours before they send your case to them.  

 

Someone had guessed that files were technically with NBC until statuses updated to say inline but really, we have no idea as to what rhyme or reason they schedule things!  The general rule of thumb though is to sit tight and be patient!

Today is one of those days (actually it's been one of those weeks) that I'm finding this whole process very frustrating. I know I'll be at least November before we get over the line going from the current Chicago filers from previous recent months. It may even be longer. I know to expect this, and I am glad to just be in the system but it's so frustrating to have no movement or be able to expect any. They really do need to streamline all of this more. How, I have no clue but they need to.

Yes, unfortunately looks like their processing has no rhyme or reason. My fear is that I get stuck in the background check process - which would make no sense since they just did it less than a year ago, and it was obviously fine. 

 

Like you said - no logic to in this process! Still hoping for the best

Most NYC applications this year seemed to have zoomed along, including the filers in May with the exception of myself and @Senyorpomidor777. Hoping we all get in that line soon!

Guys, I have been filing my taxes for the past 3 years. For the 2 years before that, I was a student who wasnt working and was being supported by my aunt/parents. I therefore did not file any taxes for those years as I had no income. That should be fine right? Any thoughts?

 

My N400 form does reflect that I was going to university full time during that time as well.

This process, combined with 2 mistakes I made on the original n400 are giving me anxiety (mistakes are saying "No" for ever been arrested, etc..because I got 2 speeding ticket. Second mistake being that I answered "NO" on whether I did not file taxes. I filed no because I didnt NEED to file taxes but apparently you have to say yes and then attach an explanation saying that you didnt make any income, etc). Both mistakes were honest but I am still going to see a lawyer soon to put myself at ease and just for them to review my application and point out if there is anything else that is not aligning before my interview. 

I hope I am the only one in this situation.

The speeding ticket = arrest thing is driving me bananas.  Because generally a traffic ticket is not an arrest. If you were not taken to the police department and booked, then you were not arrested. BUT I just read that in SOME states it is!  For example, if being pulled over for a traffic offense, under Washington law it's an arrest. It's not a custodial arrest, but it is an arrest.

 

So I guess it really depends on your state and how they view those kinds of things.  As someone that never got a ticket (touch wood) I totally learned something new today!
