If you file 90 days before your green card anniversary that would be considered filling early

Even if you've had your green card for YEARS?  Are you saying that this process is based on a 12 month cycle that just loops around?

Always thought of early filer as someone who submits application as soon elegibility window opens up. Never imagined any special consideration given for early filers. Could be wrong tho.

NO its based on three years or 5 years (if based on marriage to us citizen 3 if not 5 years) anniversary if you had it for years then its not early filing.

No for example. I got my green card on aug 10 2012 and my five years anniversary will be august 10 2017. I field on may 2017 therefore because im applying before my 5 years anniversary i am an early filer

It means you're one step closer SURE... but as we've discussed there are a lot of variables that affect these things - for both applicants and the USCIS. Try not to presume the worst for your case because others are waiting a long time.

     He was trying to say if someone applied early needs to wait a month after fingerprints to be in line for interview; otherwise, applicant must wait month before the anniversary.

He just analyzing these  mysterious variables.

Hey gang

take a look at this

@lovelyalex

I'm hoping this theory gets laufine over the line tomorrow or close to it. It seems to be a pattern alright and what I'm thinking is because they want to make sure people are in fact eligible when they are naturalized so early filers sit it out.

So am I just sh*t out of luck and have to wait it out until March of next year before anything moves on my case?  ...Because that is when my GC anniversary date is?  I've been a GC holder since 2010.

My situation is pretty vanilla and boring - I came here late 2009, got my first green card in less than 6 months.  I married my USC husband, we have 2 kids, bought a house, 2 cats, both work for the same blue chip company less than 15 minutes down the road. On paper there isn't really much of anything to raise an eyebrow at - so while my last name might be fairly common, the name check should come back pretty quickly and sparkling... so I'm led to believe they haven't even GOTTEN to me yet in the queue.

As long as I can vote by the time the mid terms come around I'll be happy, but even so this waiting is infuriating because there is so little guidance and communication as to why/when/how things get done so we are left guessing.

@lovelyalex I spoke to USCIS previously because I wanted to see if it showed that my prints were submitted and they said that they had no record of it only showing my appointment was scheduled . BUT she said it rarely says otherwise until we are put to in line status so not to pay any attention to that.

I'm an early filer. I can help verifying the theory :). My GC date is 08/07/2012, I got my biometric done on 06/21. According to the theory, I should be placed in line for the interview 1 month before my 5 year anniversary date so it will be on 07/07. I will keep everybody posted. Good luck everyone.

Mine is still saying "we scheduled your finger prints" since the end of May.  Apparently, based on speculation and discussion in other threads on here this means that our background checks (specifically the name checks) have not been done by the FBI and submitted to the USCIS yet.

I am in the same case . I asked uscis office in Philadelphia where I was told that they are processing August 2016 cases . Almost a year behind :(

i guess we will be in line for a while
