So going on the theory of being in line a month before your 3 or 5 year anniversary , it will be interesting to see if you go in line around the 24th!

I heard that too. Just wait to see if my case will update on next Monday or not. I believe that USCIS updates case status on Monday. My friend is applying for green card. And his case is also updated on Monday.

USCIS updates fingerprints every Monday but they do update inline for interview every day based on last years data

Guys question ....

I was delaying my marriage  till I get my citizenship, as long as this process is too long I`m thinking to get married next few months .

If I get married to my gf and she is American citizen will that affect my case?

      Thanks

@Mehrdad576 You are attempting to  assign reasons for the delay on our applications by blaming someone who is the President of the country and his policies. Now that is politics... and I am only suggesting to you that, we cut out such things on this forum because there could be dissenting views. You are free to disagree! Just a suggestion.

To be fair @Mehrdad576 makes a valid point - it was mentioned in a bunch of other threads that GC applications are up, because of the current administration, this is due to a number of reasons - including but not limited to the fact that a lot of folks are concerned about being able to come and go freely with their GCs.  There are numerous articles (from both sides politically) documenting the facts - applications have been up since Trump's anti-immigrant campaign rhetoric.  This is on top of a very normal JUMP in applications before an election.  Everyone has their personal reasons for applying - and I hope that we can all agree, despite whatever our political leanings are that we want to be here legally because we've made America our home and want to continue contributing to our communities around us, and take on the additional responsibilities like voting and being on a jury etc etc.

Not negatively.  If anything I think it would only seek to further legitimize your commitment to making a life here!

Oh the other thing that apparently helped increase applications was the increase in fees last year.

Why you are saying that ?

Price increase for form N-400

election. Always after election there is a backlog and takes longer time

On top of that l, this administration's policy. Many people had their green card and didn't care/want to become US citizens however after election they applied for citizenship just to travel freely without beeing afraid of denying admission.

the other reason is the ELIS system which may delay some applications since its a new system. Some people are being routed to NBC and others  are getting IOE reciept numbers . From what i heard in 2016 IOE delayed may applicants but i read that IOE is faster than NBC now.

We have no choice but to wait .

I do not think that there is a difference between NBC and IOE to make some things faster then others , I think it depends on the location with the number of applications .

of course , there is a delay because if the system but what can we do ?

I had my fingerprint done today , it was empty so I did not wait at all . They told me that they are late for the applications so I won't be stressed and I live my life as usual and try to be positive .

do not give up, you won't make things move faster :(
