Hey lovelyalex I came to the USA with a CR1 visa in 2012, but I checked the 5 year box cause I have 5 years with my GC

I had the fingerprint on 05/22/2017, but I haven't got any notice for in-line for the interview. It's been a whole month already. Am I on the right processing time? I am under Washington DC local center.

 

Based on my previous experience, I thought fingerprint was only background check based on fingerprints and name. I had this done about a year ago when I was working with a removal of conditions. it is a redundant procedure because nothing had changed.

I think if you had biometrics done within 15 months of your last set you aren't required to get them done again.

That's news to me. Every pertinent time line I've seen seems to have biometrics for both ROC and N400, regardless of being within 15 months. Have you seen otherwise, or heard stories? 

 

USCIS website makes no mention of the time limit, as far as I've seen. If that were a policy - they wouldn't require you to pay another biometrics fee, and if they are they are unlawfully stealing. I'm sure there would be a class action lawsuit by now it were a matter of policy.

NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

This is something I learned through this forum!  Most of us are out of that 15 month window but I have seem some folks skip the biometrics appointment altogether as a result.

 

"Fingerprints are valid for 15 months from the date of processing by the FBI."

@MnMJourney this is an old thread, but from a quick search in the forum it's an example of the wording they respond with.  It's an old post sure, but I'm using it as an example because they say in their response about not refunding the bio fee.

Thank you!... I wonder how long did it takes for others to get their interview notice hard copy to arrive in the mail after this notification from USCIS....
